Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) last year applied for the approval of NBA for five courses of different branches, but only one of them got recognition. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) on the Power Systems Course of Electrical Engineering Branch has stamped its accreditation.
NBA plays a crucial role
On December 8, 2016, the University applied to the NBA to get recognition of 5 courses. After this, the NBA has teamed up with 11 members for team inspection. They included two courses of one course and one chairman of the committee. During the inspection, four courses did not meet the criteria set by the NBA. While the Power System course came true.
Application for these courses was available.
RTU awaits for Recognition of the courses
In order to obtain recognition from NBA, the Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) went ahead and applied for the Environmental Engineering of the Department of Control and Instrumentation and Digital Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management of the Department of Electronics and Civil Division for obtaining NBA accreditation. After obtaining the NBA accreditation of the power system, the students of RTUs will get an education in Indian and foreign institutions and get priority for jobs in multinational companies.
The course was tested at nine points
The NBA team tested every course on nine points basis. It included Vision Mission, Program Outcome, Programming, Student Performance, Faculty, Faculty, Academic Support, Governance and Continuous Improvement. Of the total 1000, the course of scoring 600 to 750 is two-year validity and the course that scores between 750 and 1000 points get recognition for five years. Power system course has scored 600 and 750 points.
