About NIRF 

NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) was approved by Ministry of Human Research Development and was launched by the Minister of Human Resource Development in 2015. The method of ranking is based on overall recommendations of the core committee constituted by the MHRD itself. It judges and ranks the institutions on the parameters of teaching, learning and researchers. It also takes into account the academic outcome of the institution and its outreach programmes.

Top Private University

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was ranked 1st in the category of private university in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) released by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Amrita University) emerged as 9th best University and 16th in the overall category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) that rates Indian higher educational institutes on the basis of their performance.

Other notable achievements

With a global humanitarian leader, Mata Amritanandamayi as its chancellor the university is bound to receive recognitions. She has won numerous awards like Karma Yogi of the Year (2002), Mahavir Mahatma Award (2005), etc. Only last year the school of medical sciences received the FICCI Healthcare Excellence Award in Patient Safety and innovation in medical technology.
