North Indians excel in VIT Entrance exams

Deviating from the past when the students of Andhra Pradesh bagged the top ranks in the VIT engineering entrance examination a few students from the Northern states have surprised us by topping the examination. VIT admits students based on merit. It has its own entrance exam which is conducted in the month of April.

Top 10 Rank Holders From The Northern States

 The first rank in the VIT engineering entrance examination was bagged by Aashish Waikar of Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula Madhya Pradesh. 2,23,081 candidates had registered for the exam this year and the top 10 ranks have been bagged by the North Indian students. Two students including the first ranker are from Madhya Pradesh, one each from Rajasthan, Goa, Gujarat, and Delhi, two each are from Uttar Pradesh and Telangana. Unfortunately, there were no girls in the first top 10 list.


Counselling for candidates who obtained ranks up to 8,000 would be held on May 10, and counseling between rank 8,001 and 14,000, would be held on May 11, while for those who secured ranks between 14,001 to 20,000 would be held on May 12. Central and State Board toppers will get a reduction in their fees for all the 4 years in VIT.
