Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidhyarthi Yojana Scholarship for JEE Main students

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that the students who make it to the merit list of JEE Main exam shall be covered under the Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidhyarthi Yojana. This will cover students who get into the top 1.5 lakh rank in JEE Mains. For these students, the state government will bear their engineering college fee. As per his announcement, a "student’s panchayat" is also to be organized in Madhya Pradesh.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan made this announcement at a function organized at Lal Parade in Bhopal to celebrate his completion of 12 years in office. He interacted with students on this occasion.

About JEE Main:

JEE Main was formerly called as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). It is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). JEE Main is taken up by students who want to take up Undergraduate Engineering programs in national colleges throughout India. Students who qualify JEE Main can take up JEE Advanced to qualify for admissions to IITs and few other institutes.

Participating Institutes:

JEE Main scores are considered for admission into NITs, IITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes and Technical Institutes from states.

Subjects Covered:

Paper 1 of JEE Main covers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Paper 2 of JEE Main covers Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students who have passed their class 12th in 2016 or 2017 and those who are appearing for the same in 2018 are eligible to appear.
  • They should have scored more than 75% or should be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards.

Application:

The application for JEE Main 2018 starts on December 1st.
