KCET Ranking 2022: Karnataka HC Accepts Government’s Proposition
The Karnataka HC approved the recommendation that repeaters be evaluated after deducting six marks from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

KCET Ranking 2022: The Karnataka High Court has approved the expert committee’s recommendation that the repeaters be evaluated after deducting six marks from their qualifying examination marks in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
This recommendation relates to the Karnataka Common Entrance Test KCET Ranking 2022 system for PU II students who passed in 2020–21.
The court also gave orders to the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) to publish a revised KCET Ranking 2022 list for repeaters based on the normalization procedure suggested by the expert committee.
In addition, the committee led by Dr. B Thimmegowda, Vice-Chairman of the Karnataka Higher Education Council wherein the route mean square or RMS method for calculating the difference in the average marks scored by the candidates of 2022-23 and candidates of 2021 (Covid-19) in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
On September 20, a committee was there, and the average marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry obtained by candidates for the academic years 2022–2023 and candidates for the academic year 2021 (Covid–19) were looked out.
According to the normalization process, students in the 2021 PU class will see a total drop of 6 points for every 100 qualifying grades, with an average reduction of 6 points in Physics, 5 points in Chemistry, and 7 points in Mathematics.
The KCET Ranking 2022 of post-Covid batch or fresher batch students were in effect by using the 50-50 split of qualifying exam and CET marks for evaluation of repeaters or Covid-19 batch students after normalization.
Therefore, the seats in IT-related branches in colleges must increase by 10% as per the preferred selection of seats from previous years to protect the interests of students from the post-Covid batch.
