KCET Rank List 2022: Karnataka High Court’s Division Bench posted the State’s appeal to redo KCET Rank List 2022. Furthermore, the State elaborated that all students had 50% second PUC marks and 50% CET marks. On September 3, a Single Judge Bench of the court quashed a Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) note on 2020-21 PU students. Effectively, The KEA issued the notice on July 30 this year. Subsequently, the second-year PU marks of students from the 2020-21 batch were not considered for CET rankings. Only the CET marks were considered in the final calculation.
Overview of the Appeal to Redo KCET Rank List 2022
The highlights of what went down with the decision regarding the rank list are as follows:
- First, the court took up the case and directed all Petitioners to file their objections.
- Further, the court posted the matter for the next hearing to be conducted on September 19 – Monday.
- However, this led to the dissatisfaction of the students. The matter keeps getting delayed resulting in the postponement of the counseling process.
- There is hope that the court will reach its final decision regarding the KCET rank list 2022 on September 19.
In the September 3 judgment issued, the High Court had said the “impugned note is contrary to the principles of legitimate expectation and the same deserves to be quashed.” Many students reappearing for CET from the 2020-21 batch had challenged this note. At Present, the Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice S Vishwajith Shetty directed the authorities. The notice was to comply with the office’s objections to their appeal. They further directed them to adjourn the hearing regarding the KCET rank list 2022 to next week.
