JoSAA Cutoff 2022: Following the release of the second round seat allotment result, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will now release the cutoff required for admissions to the institutes accepting JEE 2022 Results (Mains or Advanced). Moreover, there are four types of engineering and technology related colleges granting admissions to students. These 114 institutes, including -
- Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) - 23
- National Institutes of Technology (NITs) - 31
- Indian Institute of Enineering Science & Technology (IIEST), at Shibpur (Part of NIT, India)
- Government Funded Technology Institutes (GFTI) - 33
- Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) - 26.
As most students aim to get a seat at an IIT, the cutoff for IIT admissions is more competitive. After the JoSAA Counselling, viz., the JoSAA Seat Allotment result announcement, the University conducts its own verification, before granting admission. However, students must clear the JoSAA cutoff for the institute. Albeit, the institute has the right to refuse admission to a student even if they clear the JoSAA cutoff.
