India Commences Its G20 Presidency With 'University Connect': On Dec 1, 2022, India officially took office as the G20 President. The primary issues India will aim to address are counter-terrorism and global problems such as tedious economic growth and climate change. Be that as it may, during a press conference, the UGC chairman, Shri M. Jagadesh Kumar, hailed the country's initiative to kickstart the presidency with "University Connect". Such an initiative aims to bring students of various Indian universities together to display how India can set an example of resolving global issues using peace, harmony, healing and hope.
Furthermore, when college students begin the G20 presidency with a program of their own, it will send a strong message to the member nations and the entire world that India is a fast-growing young country. Therefore, the country's youth must be aware of 'University Connect', besides the formalities of the G20 event.

As Mr Kumar stated, it is a significant gesture to begin the G20 presidency with an inaugural program by students. Albeit, the country's youth must be aware of the aim and mission of the G20 summit and the responsibility of its presidency. As a country, we are taking significant global strides by focusing the matter of discussion on essential global problems, including -
- Terrorism,
- Slow Economic Growth,
- Climate Change,
- Social Unrest, and many others.
A lot depends on our students since they will present to the member nations how fast is the country's fortunes changing. In addition, students represent youth, symbolising our population's strength. Not only do we belong to one of the fastest-growing nations, but our population comprises mainly young people. More so than any other member nation. Besides showcasing the fact that we are a young, advancing nation, it will also represent inclusivity in development.
