IIT Madras launched the online GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) preparation portal through the NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) to aid aspirants. They collaborated with Amadeus Labs, Bengaluru, to set up the freely accessible NPTEL GATE portal. Interested aspirants can access the same by visiting the official website at gate.nptel.ac.in
Valid GATE scores are considered for admission into several postgraduate and PhD programs in prestigious institutions such as the IITs, IISCs, and other public sector undertakings. According to the director of IIT Madras, V Kamakoti, NPTEL aims to create a level-playing field by offering equal opportunities to all GATE aspirants. On the other hand, Ramkrishna Pasumurthy, NPTEL coordinator, stated that the free portal is a result of the demands for learning assistance from aspirants. Nearly 10 lakh candidates will appear for GATE 2023. GATE assesses the test-taker’s knowledge acquired during their undergraduate education, where succeeding in the exam ensures higher education and employment opportunities.
IITM PALS organised an event during which they launched the free GATE preparation 2023 portal as a social initiative to promote engineering education among students. The NPTEL, on the other hand, is a joint venture of the IITs and the IISCs to provide online certification programs to students.
