GATE Exam Queries 2023
Here are some queries candidates usually ask before the GATE exam:
- How many questions should be answered to score good marks in GATE?
The number of good attempts depends on the exam subject the candidate is attending. For example, answering 75 questions correctly will score the candidate good marks on the ECE paper, while for ME, 85 questions are considered a good attempt. However, as a general rule of thumb, a minimum of 40 to 50 questions should be answered correctly. The more questions are answered correctly, the better the score will be.
- Which section should be attempted first?
It is advised that candidates attempt the General aptitude section first. If the candidate is not confident with that section, they may start with the technical questions from the subject of their choice.
- Will guessing answers help?
Candidates must try to refrain from guessing their answers. Candidates are advised not to guess more than 2 or 3 questions. However, if 2 options have been eliminated from the given options, they may guess from the remaining 2.
