Rs. 48.20 crore for creation of infrastructure in Rayalaseema University, out of Rs. 383.30 crore which was released for works in 14 universities in the State by the government.
With an outlay of Rs. 19 crore, academic blocks for School of Life Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Science and OR and SQC would be constructed. A library building will be constructed using Rs. 3 crores. Rs. 18 crores will be used for the construction of three hostels. Rs. 4.5 crores will be utilised for the construction of classrooms and Rs. 2.5 crores will be utilised for the construction of sports facilities.
All the construction contracts have been entrusted to government agencies and the A.P. Medical Infrastructure Development Corporation and the Roads and Buildings Department. The University Grants Commission has also granted the university Rs. 1 crore, out of which the university has utilised 20 lakhs.
RU Creates Part-time Job for Students
The university has also created part-time jobs for the students on the campus. They were given jobs in the library and the library. NSS volunteers were also given the job of enumeration in smart pulse surveys. The students were paid Rs. 100 per hour for their work.
