It's the time for Punjabis to celebrate their New Years!

Baisakhi is a very important Festival which is mainly celebrated in the Northern part of India. This day is marked as the “Punjabi New Year”. The day of Baisakhi is considered one of the most important and auspicious days for the Punjabi community. The Sikh people usually start the celebration by visiting the Gurdwara. It is also celebrated by other people.The festival of Baisakhi is celebrated on the first day of Vaisakh, which generally falls on the 13th or 14th April every year. Punjabis celebrate this festival as Punjabi New Year. One the same day, the Bengali New Year is commonly known as Poila Baisakh and Bhogali Bihu is celebrated every year.Baisakhi is mainly a harvest festival. This auspicious day is very important for the farmers. They offer thanks to god and pray for the good crops in the future.


An exclusive Seminar conducted at Chandigarh University

The two-day international seminar on the ‘Role of Media in Promotion of Peace in South Asia’ concluded today at Chandigarh University, Mohali, with a message to spread peace among India and Pakistan through cultural ties. Chandigarh University is considered as one of the most intellectual destinations in the North India. The University empowers its students with their inherent skills and provides an excellent platform to exhibit and be able to challenge the conventional thinking to enrich the human life across the globe. A delegation of several journalists from Pakistan took part in the seminar which deliberated on political, security, culture, sports, and traditional issues.
