About the holistic learning experience at the College, HOD, Department of Civil Engineering, Mr. Vineet Kumar Mishra says, “Some of the most advanced 3D printers are in labs on our campus. So that students get hands-on experience in the latest fields. The printers are so advanced and used by industry to make prototypes. The focus is on learning by doing. The curriculum connects different areas of engineering; integrates engineering, mathematics and science with arts, humanities and entrepreneurship to ensure that the students of Dronacharya College of Engineering are fully industry-ready when they graduate.”
In December 2017, the students of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon, participated in a national competition on Rural and Swadeshi Startup Meet “[email protected]” organized by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, in IIT Delhi. The objective of the workshop was to encourage people to come up with promising startups focused on rural and societal issues.
The Microsoft Innovation Center, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized a series of workshop on “Minecraft: Hour of Code” in December 2017.
On International Volunteer Day, an event was organized by the United Nation Volunteer (UNV) at India Habitat Centre, Delhi. 42 students of the Institution along with two Faculty Coordinators of NSS Wing, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event. The objective of the event was to make the students aware about the contributions of volunteers at the local, national and international level, together with communities, civil society organizations, United Nations agencies, funds and programmes, government authorities and the private sector the world over.
Mr. Chandra Shekhar Singh (HOD, ECE Department), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended NAFED-2017 – Second National Finite Element Developers/ FEASTSMT Users Meet at ISRO HQ, Bangalore in December 2017. The objective of the meet was to widen the scope of software development into the academic curricula of educational institutions, which will, in turn, attract talent and therefore improves software capability.
Ms. Sarita (Assistant Professor, CSE) from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended one-week Faculty Development Program on Soft Computing Techniques and Applications (SCoTA-17) under the Scheme of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching, MHRD, Government of India organized by Banasthali University, Rajasthan.
In December 2017, a student of ECS Department from the Institution was the Campus Ambassador for PRAVEGA 2018, a three-day extravaganza organized by IISc Bangalore, where students and researchers join in the celebration of Science, Engineering and Arts. Students of IT, CSIT and ECS Departments of the institution were the Campus Ambassador for UNMAAD 2018, a three-day annual cultural festival held at IIT Bombay.
