College Students to Get 15 Minutes Extra During Offline Exams in Maharashtra
Maharashtra Higher Education Minister Uday Samant, has announced that college students will get 15 minutes extra during offline exams.
Maharashtra Higher Education Minister Uday Samant, on 13 April 2022, has announced through his Twitter handle that colleges and universities will provide students with 15 minutes of extra time during offline exams. This announcement has come as a relief to students who are going to appear for the offline exams.
Therefore, authorities have decided to grant students extra time to write their exams. This will help integrate students into an offline mode of studying and learning. Moreover, due to online classes because of the pandemic, students will find it difficult to take offline exams.
In his tweet, Higher Education Minister Uday Samant further said that “Covid forced education to the online platform and exams too were conducted online. Considering that after a break of two years, students will appear for exams in offline mode, universities should give students 15 extra minutes for every hour of the exam period.”
According to media reports, the announcement came after Aditya Thackeray-led Yuva Sena urged the Minister to give extra time to the students during offline exams.
Students are welcoming this measure since they have lost the habit of writing lengthy papers in offline mode. Moreover, during online exams and classes, most universities were conducting MCQ based tests. Therefore, getting extra time to write their exams will greatly benefit the students.
