Assam Downtown University Celebrated 7th Convocation Day Virtually

Assam Downtown University celebrated its 7th Convocation Day last month on 19th October 2020. The institute took immense pride by conducting the Convocation Day virtually due to the ongoing pandemic. The event took place live on the AdtU official YouTube channel at 11:00 AM.

Honorable Chancellor Dr. N.N Dutta was the Chief Guest of the Convocation along with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. N. C Talukdar and Dean of Studies Prof Bandana Dutta. Several other dignitaries and trustee members were present for the event from the academic and industrial sectors. The event was graced with the presence of former Vice-Chancellor and current Advisor Prof. (Dr) Amarjyoti Choudhury and Dr. Nandita Choudhury, first Vice-Chancellor of AdtU.

Commencement of the Convocation ceremony with the academic processionThe ceremony began with the academic procession to the University Anthem by the esteemed dignitaries of Assam Downtown University.  Dr. N.N Dutta, Honorable Chancellor, Adtu, commenced the award ceremony with the welcome address followed by a speech of Prof (Dr) N. C. Talukdar, Vice-Chancellor of AdtU.

Four Scholars, namely Debojit Bhattacharya, Mr. Abhijit Dutta, Ms. Banajeeta Sharma, & Ms. Manashi Mazumdar, were awarded Ph.D degrees by Prof Bandana Dutta, Dean of Studies, AdtU. The ceremony witnessed 860 students and scholars' graduation, including 647 undergraduates, 209 postgraduates, and 4 Ph.D degrees.

Students awarded their degreesApart from academic awards, the University also gave away Best Graduate and Post Graduate Student awards during the ceremony. The Best Graduate award was given to Ms. Napolina Kishor Pathak of BSc. Microbiology, Faculty of Science, and the Best Post Graduate award was given to Ms. Kashmiri Sonowal of M.Pharm, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.  

Students awarded their degreesAssam Downtown University also celebrated its record for the highest number of placements with an award given to the Best Placement Achiever, Mr. Siddharth Das of B.Tech CT & IS, who bagged seven placement offers along with the highest package of INR 10 LPA.
