All you need to know before applying for JEE Main on 1st Dec 2017

The official information bulletin for JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Main 2018 has been released by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). The online application form for JEE Main 2018 would start on the 1st of December. Like the last year, this year also the CBSE has made Aadhaar Card compulsory for students applying for JEE Main.

The aspirants are suggested to go through the online information bulletin in detail. The application for JEE Main 2018 would only be filled online, paper applications would not be accepted. Candidates are requested to fill the application form only on the official website. CBSE has made the Aadhaar Card mandatory from 2016 and the identification number is also mandatory for JEE Main 2018 examination. Few important points for the candidates to consider before filling the application are given below:

  1. All the candidates are requested to provide their Aadhaar Card number at the time of the registration(except the students from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya).
  2. The candidates who do not have their Aadhaar Card are requested to apply for the same at various Aadhaar enrollments centers. List of these centers is available on uidai.gov.in.
  3. If the candidates do not receive their Aadhaar Card before the last date of online application which is on 1st January 2018, they are requested to provide the 14 digit Aadhaar Enrolment Id including the slash in the application form.
  4. The aspirants who have passed or appearing in class XII examination from the states of  Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya are requested to provide their Ration card number, Bank account number or any other Government identity number(candidates should select the city of examination in these states only).

JEE Main is a national level engineering entrance exam conducted by the CBSE board for admissions to the engineering colleges under the central government. The examination has also been adopted by the states of Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland for the admissions into the state-run and private engineering colleges. JEE Main is the qualifier examination for  JEE Advanced.
