Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur increased the number of students who will be appearing for JEE Advanced Exam on May 20, 2018.
According to the announcement made by the Institute on Saturday, 4000 more candidates will appear for the exam on 2018 which will increase the number of qualifying candidates who will write JEE Advanced from 2.2 lakh to 2.24 lakh which includes all the categories.
This announcement is a relief for all those candidates who fail to qualify for the JEE Advanced by one or two marks. There will be two compulsory computer-based papers, paper 1 and paper 2 which will be conducted on two sections. This year JEE Advanced is hosted by IIT, Kanpur and the Official website has already been launched which is compatible with all devices.
The Human Resource Development Ministry is considering to increase the number of seats by 1000 for the coming academic year. This increase in seats will happen in the new IIT campuses and the old ones like IIT Bombay, Madras, Delhi etc will not be having any changes. The final decision regarding the increase in seats along with the hike on allotted seats by 14% for female candidates will be made by Joint Admissions Board( JAB).
