UPSC CAPF Eligibility Criteria 2019

  • For UPSC CAPF Exam 2019, both male and female are eligible to register. 

UPSC CAPF 2019 Exam Eligibility - Based on Nationality

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India.

  • Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan can also apply for the post of UPSC CAPF 2019. 


UPSC CAPF 2019 Exam Eligibility - Based on Age

  • Candidates are required to be of between 20-25 years of age.

  • The upper age limit is relaxable up to a maximum of five years for the SC/ST candidates.

  • The upper age limit is relaxable up to a maximum of three years for the OBC candidates.

  • The applicant must not be born between the period of 2nd August 1993 to 1st August 1998.

  • Age relaxation up to a maximum of 5 years is available for Candidates who lived in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989. 


UPSC CAPF 2019 Exam Eligibility - Based on Educational Qualification:

A candidate must have a Bachelor's degree from any of the government recognised university or Insititute.

With Glasses/Lasik Surgery

Candidate's eyesight should be in the range of -4.00 D (including cylinder) Myopia and +4.00 D (including cylinder) Hypermetropia as the limits of Refractive errors permitted.

Candidates who have done Lasik Surgery need to check the eligibility criteria given below by the conducting authority.

A candidate who has done LASIK surgery for the betterment of eyesight should wait at least 6 months after the surgery to register for the UPSC CAPF 2019 recruitment.


Medical Standards for UPSC CAPF 2019 (Carrying Angle):

The degree formed between the axes of a radially deviated forearm and the humerus is the carrying angle. The carrying angle should not be more than 20˚ for the female candidates and not more than 15˚ for male candidates.


Medical Standards for UPSC CAPF 2019 (Ear):

  • Candidates should not be a subject of any degree of deafness or ear discharge.

  • Candidates should not be a subject of other medical conditional related to ears like atresia of the meatus, neoplasm (causing obstruction of ear passage), exostosis, recurrent earaches, vertigo, and tinnitus.


Medical Standards for UPSC CAPF 2019 (Neck):

  • Candidates should not be a subject of the thyroid, swelling of the neck, enlarged lymph nodes, inability to extend the neck, any evidence of diseases related to the spine or cervical vertebrae.

Medical Standards for UPSC CAPF 2019 (Teeth):

Candidates eyesight which is better due to gasses is also eligible.

General Standards for UPSC CAPF 2019:

  • Candidates should not suffer from stammering. They should have a flow of speech without any impediment.

  • Candidates should not be a subject of TB, arthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart diseases, or bronchial asthma.

  • Candidate should have a well-formed chest. They should not be a subject of a flat chest, pigeon chest, or any other visible glandular swelling.

  • Limbs, feet, and hands should be well-formed.

  • Candidate should not have any history of malnutrition/fracture of bones.

  • For male candidates, the testicles should be in the scrotum and in normal size.

  • Candidates should not have varicose veins, flat foot, and/or knock knees.

  • Candidate should have good mental and physical health.

  • Candidate should not be a subject of tubercular ulceration, chronic sinusitis, DNS, atrophic rhinitis.

  • Candidates who are willing to apply for the UPSC CAPF examination should confirm that they fulfill all the eligibility requirements as mentioned in UPSC CAPF Exam application form.

  • Candidates must satisfy all the prescribed eligibility conditions.
