UGC NET Application Process 2019

UGC NET 2019 Application Process:

  • Availability: Candidates who wish to apply for UGC NET 2019 can do so on by filling the Application Form which is available on the official website.

  • Date: The application form for UGC NET 2019 will be available from 4th March 2019 till 5th April 2019.

  • Eligibility: Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria alone can apply for UGC NET 2019.

  • Uploading images: Candidates should upload scanned images in the format and dimension mentioned for each image.

  • Fee: UGC NET 2019 application fee is Rs.1000 for candidates belonging to the General Category, Rs.500/- for OBC category, Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PWD.

  • Fee Payment: UGC NET 2019 Application Fee can be paid through both online and offline modes.

  • Submission: After all the details are filled, candidates can submit the application form by clicking on Submit button.

  • Copy of documents: Candidates are advised to take a copy of the Application Form and other essential documents for future references.


Steps involved in UGC NET 2019 Application Process:

Step 1 (Registration / Login):

  • Log in: The students who are already registered with the official website can directly log-in using their Application Number and Password.

  • Registration: New users must register on the official website to apply for UGC NET Exam 2019. Candidates can complete the registration process by filling in the required details.

  • Terms and conditions: After logging in to fill up the application form, the Terms and Conditions related to the exam are displayed.

  • Proceed: Candidates can go through the Terms and Conditions and then click on Proceed Further.


Step 2 (Filling in the details):

  • Entering necessary details: Now the online CBSE UGC NET 2019 Application Form will appear on the screen and candidates can start entering the required details on the form like personal details, Education details, etc.

  • Submission: Carefully fill in all the details before clicking on the Submit option.

  • Confirmation: After the Submit button is clicked, a Review Page appears where the candidate can review the details entered by him/her. Candidates are advised to go through the details carefully and verify if all the information furnished are correct. After verification, click Final Submit to submit the application form.

  • Application Number generation: On submitting the application form, the system will generate UGC NET 2019 Application Number, which must be kept safe as it is required to log in again.

  • Continue/skip: Now the candidate can continue or skip to a further part. The candidate can continue filling up rest of the information using Application id and Password.

  • Photograph and signature: After the details are entered, candidates should upload scanned copies of their scanned photograph & signature (Candidates are advised to have a look at the specifications regarding the size and dimension of the images to be uploaded).

  • Rejection of forms: Candidates should fill all the personal and educational details on the application form. Candidates must keep in mind that if the entries are not appropriate the form will be rejected.


Step3 (Uploading Scanned Images):

  • Candidates should upload scanned images only in the specified format and dimensions.
  • The candidate should know about the criteria to be followed at the time of uploading the photo and signature.

Some Standards to be followed while uploading the photo:

  • Format: jpg/jpeg.

  • Size of the photo: 4KB – 40KB.

  • Photograph dimension(width*Height): 3.5 cm * 4.5 cm

  • Size of signature image: 1KB – 30 KB.

  • Signature dimension(length*Height): 3.5 cm * 1.5 cm.


Step 4 (Application Fee Payment):

  • Upload: After final upload of the photo, the candidates will be redirected to the fee payment portal.

  • Payment mode: Candidates can choose to pay through online payment or E-Challan.

  • E-Challan: If the candidate opts for payment through E-challan, the system will generate an E-Challan that the candidate has to get printed and submit it along with the fee to any nearest Bank.

  • Debit/Credit card: If the candidate selects Debit/Credit Card then the details about the Application Fee will be displayed.

  • Candidates can continue the process of application fee payment by clicking on "Yes, I do" option.

  • Then candidates can enter their card details and make payment to complete the application process.

Important Note for Applicants:  

Candidates are required to check the fee payment status on the official website. The candidate will be able to take a printout of the "Confirmation Page" only if the status is "OK". In case the status is "NOT OK", the candidates are advised to do the following:

  • The candidate must approach the concerned bank at the earliest to update his/her payment status if the payment was done via e-challan mode.

  • If the payment was done using a debit/credit card, the amount will be refunded to the concerned bank account within a week. The candidates must make the payment again in such cases.

If you have a problem in taking Printout then,

  • Go to File > Page Setup.
  • On the "Format & Options" tab change Orientation as Landscape.
  • On the "Margins & Header/Footer" tab remove the text you do not wish to print.

Application form fees

What would be the application fee for UGC NET?

The candidate should pay the UGC NET application fee of Rs.600 if belonging to the General Category, Rs.300 if belonging to OBC category, and Rs.150 for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD.

The fees can be paid through the credit/debit card. You can also pay through the e-challan generated from the website at any branch of (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank)

What are the modes of payment of examination fees for the UGC NET 2017 exam?

Applicants can choose to pay through online payment or E-Challan Mode. By clicking on e- challan mode, the system will generate E-Challan that you will have to get printed and submit fee at any bank nearby.

If you select Debit or Credit Card then you will see the next screen where you will get to see the details about the application fee. You can continue the process of application fee payment by clicking on the "yes, I do" option.

I am not able to print my bank challan. What do I do in this case?

Follow the following steps to print your bank challan:

In Internet Explorer

  • Go to File->Page Setup
  • In the “Paper Options” section set Landscape.
  • In the “Header and Footers” section remove the text you not wish to print.

In Mozilla Firefox

  • Go to File-> Page Setup
  • On the “Format and Options” tab change Orientation as Landscape.
  • On the “Margins and Header/Footer” tab remove the text you do not wish to print.

In Google Chrome

  • Press CTRL+P in the print preview screen, change layout as Landscape.
  • In the print preview screen, un-check the box for “Header and Footer”.

Can a candidate apply again using a different email Id if he/she has submitted the earlier application form with some mistakes?

  • Yes, the candidate is allowed to do that but only one application form should be submitted at the examination center.
