About: NID Design Aptitude Test (NID DAT) is a National Level Entrance Examination conducted by Nation Institute of Design for admission in various UG and PG Programs.

Education Qualification: Candidate should have passed 10+2 qualifying examinations in the academic year 2018–19 in any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, etc.) from any recognised board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or their equivalent.
Age Limit: Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years as on 30 June 2019. Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1999 are eligible to apply for admission.
Note: Any candidate who has not passed their final board exam or equivalent before the in-person counselling will not be eligible for admission.

Registration Fee For B.Des: Application fee for Indian Nationals General category candidate is Rs.2000 and for Reserved category candidate is Rs.1000. For overseas students the Application fee is Rs. 3000 which can be paid through online and offline mode.

Counselling Date: Counselling for NID DAT 2019 will commence from 31st May 2019 after declaring the result and final merit list.
Allotment of Seats: After the original document verification process, the candidates who have shortlisted in rank list will be allotted with a seat. After payment of fees, the enrolment in the program will be confirmed.
Failed to be Present: Failing to report with the requisite documents as per the schedule will lead to forfeiting the candidate’s seat and their seat will be allotted to next eligible candidate in order of merit.

NATA score is not considered for the NID entrance test. All candidates will have to write NID’s Design Aptitude Test (DAT).

No, NID does not offer any part-time courses.

The candidates, who are successfully admitted to the B.Des programmes, will be required to undergo a mandatory foundation course of one-year duration.
Eligibility Summary of NID 2019:
To apply for NID undergraduate courses the candidate must be 20 years of age, whereas 3 years age relaxation is provided for SC/ST and OBC candidates, and for PWD candidates it is 25 years. The age limit for postgraduate aspiring candidates is 30 years with provided age relaxation to 35 years for SC/ ST/OBC and physically handicapped candidates.
Educational Qualification: To apply for NID undergraduate courses, the candidate should have completed 10+2 with education marks sheet. For applying to postgraduate courses, the candidate should have completed 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 fashion degree to be eligible to take up this exam. Graduates are also eligible to appear for NID examination.
