NEST 2019 Application Procedure
The application process has certain steps which are to be followed by the candidates when they are filling the application form and the steps are mentioned below:
Step 1: Fill/Edit Form (Basic Information about the candidate)
Page 1 of the application process asks for the candidate's personal information, choice of NEST 2019 Exam Centres and academic details as shown below.
The Candidates are required to enter the details of qualifying board examinations of Xth and XIIth standards. If a candidate's school board provides CGPA instead of percentage then, calculate the ‘equivalent percentage’ as per the guidelines that are given by the board.
Typically, CGPA is multiplied by 9.5 to convert it to ‘equivalent percentage’ value. For example, if the CGPA is 8.1 then the equivalent percentage is 76.95% (8.1x9.5)
Candidates need to choose the NEST 2019 Exam center according to their preference whichever is convenient to them. Candidates can select 5 centers out of the given test cities.
All the aspirants must understand that National Entrance Screening Test committee takes the final decision in assigning a test center for a particular test-taker. Fill all other mandatory fields, save and proceed to the next page.
The next page will show the candidate's newly generated NEST 2019 Application number. The application number is important for all future communications with the NEST office till you take admission in the program.
Step 2: Upload (photo and signature)
On page 2 of the NEST 2019 Application Process, all applicants are required to upload JPG files of their passport size photograph and signature. The Candidates must scan their passport size photograph & signature and save them as JPEG files with sizes less 80 KB each.
Aspirants must make sure that images are properly cropped. The Candidates should not leave any empty spaces around photo or signature.
If the photograph or signature appears too small in the preview, that is probably because of improper cropping. Crop the photograph properly without leaving empty spaces around and upload again.
Applicants have the provision of uploading or editing the image again. That is after receiving their user id and password they can log in later to make some changes in NEST 2019 Application Form.
Step 3: Mode of Payment
The application fee will be Rs.1200 for Male candidates (General & OBC) and Rs. 600/- for SC, ST, and female & PWD candidates of all other categories. Page 3 of NEST 2019 Application Process provides two possible payment options among which an aspirant needs to choose one.
Male Candidates(General & OBC)
SC/ST/PWD & female candidates
The available payment modes are:
The most convenient option for payment is using one among Credit/Debit Card or through Net banking without visiting any bank.
Online payment is possible through TechProcess / SBIe-Pay payment gateways. The charges for cards/net banking of different banks are given on the payment page.
SBI E-Pay payment gateway provides 3 chances (maximum limit) for each application number. Therefore, applicants can very well try again if their transaction is failed.
However, there is no such limit for a TechProcess payment gateway. The amount debited for failed transactions will be refunded automatically within 7 days.
Demand Draft (DD):
Prepare the DD in favor of NISER-NEST, payable at Bhubaneswar. Provide all the mandatory information regarding the DD on page 3, save, and proceed to page 4.
Step 4: Verify all information on the application preview page and Submit
Once all the mandatory fields on pages 1 to 3 are provided, including photograph & signature, a single page preview of NEST 2019 Application is generated.
The page contains the candidates' photograph, signature along with other important information. If a candidate wants to change any information he/she needs to log out and re-login.
For safety reasons, the candidates are not allowed to visit the previous pages directly. Verify and confirm if all information on the preview page is correct and the photograph and the signature are properly visible.
Once satisfied, candidates have to click submit to complete NEST 2019 Application Process.
Step 5: Printout of the application page
After an aspirant submits his/her application, a summary page will be generated and one can take a printout of it. If some applicants have chosen DD as their payment method they are required to send a printed copy of the summary page along with the DD to the NEST office.
But for test-takers who have paid the NEST 2019 Application Fee by online mode either by net-banking or credit card, sending that summary page is not required.
The last date for communicating with the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) office is 15th March 2019. NEST office will not be responsible for postal delays.
Candidates are, therefore, advised to apply well before the last date. All test-takers must make sure that they write their name and application number at the back of DD, in case they opt for this payment option.
Candidates can log in to their NEST 2019 Application account and track updates on the payment status after about two weeks (for DD) and 3 days (for online payment).
NEST 2019 Admit Card will be generated to all applicants from 25th April 2019. Students can download the same and take some printouts of it.
