Born on or after August 1994

Any 3 combinations of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must clear 10+2 or its equivalent exam from Central/ State Board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology as their mandatory subject.

  • Year of Passout: Candidates must clear their 10+2 or its equivalents in the year 2017 or 2018. Candidates appearing 12th standard exam in the year 2019 are also eligible to apply for the NEST 2019.

  • Percentage Criteria: General/ OBC category candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks in 10+2 examination

  • Percentage Criteria for Reserve Category: SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates should have secured minimum 55% marks in 10+2 examination

  • Age Limit: Candidates born or after 1st August 1999 are considered as eligible candidates. Candidates belonging to ST/ SC/ PWD category will have relaxation of 5 years.

  • Eligibility Proof: Candidates needs to give the eligibility proof at the time of the admission.

Reservation of Seats

For the Integrated M.Sc programme, 2018–23, the total number of seats at NISER and CEBS is 200+2(JK) and 45+2(JK), respectively. Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules of the Government of India. The categories and the extent of reservation are as follows:

  • Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non–Creamy Layer (OBC–NCL): 
27% of seats are reserved for OBC–NCL.

  • Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST): 15% seats are reserved for SC and 7.5% seats for are reserved for ST categories.

  • Person with Disabilities (PwD): 3% of seats are reserved in every category, i.e., General, OBC– NCL, SC and ST for persons with disabilities. The benefit would be given to those who have at least 40% impairment irrespective of the type of disability i.e., locomotor, visual or dyslexic.

  • Supernumerary Quota for students from Jammu and Kashmir (JK): Two seats in both the institutions are reserved for candidates from the state of Jammu and Kashmir. These two seats are supernumerary over the 200 and 45 seats, respectively, at NISER and CEBS.

Required Documents

If selected, every candidate, irrespective of any category, has to obtain a certain set of Documents at the time of admission. Despite these candidates clearing the NEST 2019, if a candidate fails to produce original documents during the admission and counselling process, the admission of the candidates will be rejected.

For General Candidates

  • Candidates has to carry all original documents and sufficient photocopies.

  • Documents such as Birth Certificate, Class 10th Mark sheet, Class 12th Mark sheet, Passport Size photographs etc.

  • If the candidate has only letter grades then, a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent percentage of marks is required. This is compulsory or else the admission will not be done.

For Reserved Categories

  • To claim seats under reserved category, it is crucial that relevant documents must be furnished at the time of admission.

  • OBC candidates must have the OBC (NCL) certificate issued on or after June 01, 2016.

  • SC/ ST and Jammu and Kashmir candidates are also required to have the SC/ST certificate (for SC/ST) and Original Certificates (Jammu and Kashmir candidates) to reserve seat under their category.

  • Candidates under PD category are required to have the Medical Certificate issued according to the latest guidelines of the Government of India.

  • Apart from the Category Certificates, Candidates will also be required to furnish documents such as Birth Certificate, Class 10th Mark sheet, Class 12th Mark sheet, Passport Size photographs at the time of counselling and admission.
