NEET 2019 Introduction:

  • About: National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) is a National level medical entrance examination held every year. The test is conducted for admission into BDS and  Top MBBS Colleges in India.

  • No. of Seats: Approximately 90,000 MBBS and BDS seats are available across the country for the eligible candidates.

  • Conducting Board: From 2019 onwards, as per the recent announcement by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

  • Responsibility of Board: The responsibility of NTA (National Testing Agency) will be limited to the conduction of the entrance test, declaration of result and providing All India Rank to the Directorate-General of Health Services, New Delhi for counselling of 15% All India Quota Seats and providing the result to the State Counselling Authorities and Admitting Institutions.

  • Eligibility: Candidates who have qualified in Class 12 or an equivalent exam, with Chemistry, Physics, Biology/ Biotechnology with English as compulsory subjects are eligible for NEET 2019.

  • Age Limit: All the citizen of Indian and OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) should be born on or before 31st December and must be less than 25 years (General and OBC candidates)/ 30 years (other categories) of age at the time of NEET 2019 admission.

  • Courses Offered: Through NEET 2019, a candidate can pursue MBBS/ BDS course from medical/ dental colleges which are approved either by Medical Council of India or Dental Council of India respectively under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (except the institutions established by 'Act of Parliament'.

  • Marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) solely decides the admission into MBBS/ BDS courses under the respective quota. 

Note: Admissions to all seats of MBBS/ BDS courses will be done through NEET-UG only, except for AIIMS and JPIMER, which conducts their own entrance examinations.

#NEET Trending (Must Check):

  • From this year 2019, NEET exam is not required for AYUSH candidates in Karnataka.

  • NTA has released Content-Based Lectures for NEET 2019 aspiring candidates by IIT Professors/ Subjects Experts, check at nta.ac.in.

  • Candidates who plan to pursue medicines from abroad are required to qualify for NEET 2019 as per latest order from MHRD.

  • NTA has done good work for those candidates who are from the rural area, the agency has established a network of test centres in order to give them ample opportunities to practice.

#NEET Previous Results Analysis:

According to previous NEET results data, approximately 7,14,562 candidates qualified for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) counselling admission. Based on the NEET Results 2018, Kalpana Kumar from Bihar scored 691 marks and bagged AIR 1, closely followed by Rohan Purohit (AIR 2) and Himanshu Sharma (AIR 3), both with 690 marks.


NTA has released the Latest Guidelines for NEET 2019 

The conducting authority of the NEET, NTA has released the latest guidelines regarding the exam.

  • The NEET 2019 is a Computer Based Test.

  • Every candidate will be provided with a computer and are required to enter the login details to proceed with the exam.

  • The candidates can make changes in their answers anytime during the examination.

  • A countdown timer will be running on the top right corner of the computer screen.

  • When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself.

Note: The time spent to rectify technical glitches during NEET 2019 will be adjusted.

NEET 2019 Exams Details:

  • Applying Mode: Candidates can apply for NEET 2019 online. 

  • Application Form: The application form will be available on the official website from 1st November 2018 until 30th November 2018. 

  • Exam and Result: The exam will be commencing on 5th May 2019 and the result would be declared by 5th June 2019.

  • Maximum Attempts: As per the board rules provided by NTA, there is no limitation to the number of attempts for NEET.

NEET 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

Every year National Eligibility cum Entrance Test conducts for Medical aspirants. It is required to check whether you are eligible for NEET exam before applying online. The application form for ineligible candidates are not accepted, so it is adviced go through NEET Eligibility Criteria. 

  • Qualification: The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with minimum 50% marks for general category and 45% marks for general PH category students and 40% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC category students to fulfill NEET 2019 Eligibility.

  • PCB Required: Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as main subjects in the qualifying examination.
  • Nationality: Candidate who applied for NEET 2019 should be a citizen of India or OCI, PIO, NRI, and Foreign candidates will be eligible for NEET. 

  • No. of Attempts: There is no limitation in the number of attempts for a particular candidate, they can attempt more than one time also.

  • Age Limit: The candidate must be at least 17-25 years as on 31st December 2018. However, SC, ST, OBC, PH candidates get 5 years age relaxation. 

  • Final Year Candidates: Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible for NEET 2019.

NEET 2019 Application Form:

NEET 2019 Registration Process will be started from 1st November 2018. The candidates are required to submit their application form before 30th November 2018. The application form will be available on the official website from the date of release through online mode only.

  • Registration: The candidates are required to register themselves first before filling the application form. Once candidates registered for NEET, he/she will get a Login ID on their official email account and registered mobile number.

  • Application Form Process: Candidates need to enter their details such as personal details, gurdians details, educational qualification detail, address etc in order to complete their NEET 2019 application form.

  • Upload Documents: Once candidates completed application process steps which are mentioned above then he/she required to upload documents like recent passport size photo, Signature, and left-hand thumb Impression.

  • The NEET 2019 Application Form will be available from 1st November 2018 and the last date to submit the application form is 30th November 2018 

NEET 2019 Application Fee:

  • Application Fees: The candidates need to pay the NEET 2019 application fee after they are done with the registration process. The NEET 2019 Application Fee can be paid via both online and offline process.

Instructions to be followed by a candidate during NEET 2019 examination:

  • Exam Timings: All the examination centre will be opened 2 hours and 30 minutes before the commencement of the NEET 2019 test. After 09:30 AM, no candidate shall be allowed to enter the NEET 2019 examination centre. 

  • Seat Allotment: A seat with a roll number will be allotted to each candidate. Candidates must find out and occupy their allotted exam seats.

  • Points to Remember about Admit Card: During the NEET 2019 examination time, the invigilator will check the admit card of the candidates for identity verification purposes. 

  • Download admit card: The candidate must report with the downloaded admit card and with proforma which is an attachment of admit card with a passport size photograph duly affixed on it, at the allotted examination centre. The invigilator will also put his/her signature in the place provided in the answer sheet on SIDE-1.

  • Candidates are not allowed to bring any barred item or any item which could be used by any unfair means. Possession of any such article with the candidates inside the centre premises will attract the penalties of unfair practices.

  • Water bottles, tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks etc. are not allowed to be taken by the candidates to the NEET 2019 examination hall.

  • No candidate will leave his/her seat or the examination room/hall until the test concludes as per schedule. Candidates should not leave the room/hall without handing over their NEET 2019 answer sheets to the invigilator on duty.

  • The NEET 2019 attendance sheet must be signed twice by the candidate at the appropriate place, first: immediately at the start of examination and second: while submission of the answer sheet to the invigilator.

  • The candidates are also required to put their finger impressions in the space provided on the NEET 2019 attendance sheet.

  • The candidate will check and ensure that the NEET 2019 Test-Booklet contains as many numbers of pages as are written on the top of the cover page.

Eligibility Summary for NEET 2019: 

  • NEET Eligibility Criteria 2019 is categorized into the candidate's Nationality, Age, Educational Qualification, performance in 10+2 qualifying examination, the total number of attempts and Aadhar card are the important criterion for NEET eligibility.

  • Domicile: Candidates should possess a valid domicile of the state along with residency proof from which they have completed their 10th and 12th.

  • Inter-state-merit criteria: Inter-state-merit of candidates will be considered for breaking the tie in marks if any.
