Important Announcement NATA 2019

  • Announcement: National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA 2019) would be held twice from the academic year 2019-20. (Source - TOI).

  • The President of Council of Architecture, Mr Vijay Garg said on Monday "NATA to be conducted twice a year". He also said that there will be National Level Counselling for Admission into B.Arch Course.

NATA 2019 Examination Introduction

  • About: NATA is the qualifying exam for admission to the 5-year Architecture programme and it is conducted across India.

  • Measures: The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to specific field of study, i.e. Architecture.

  • Authority: NATA 2019 (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) is managed and conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA).

  • Level: NATA 2019 is a National level aptitude test.

  • Eligibility: There is no age limit to apply for NATA. Candidates should have completed their SSLC and 12th with the aggregate of minimum 50% and one who has completed their diploma should have secured minimum 50% to be eligible for NATA 2019 Examination.

  • Exam Pattern: It comprises of two parts:

    • Part-A comprises of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to be answered online

    • Part-B is paper-based drawing.

  • Application Form: Candidates can register for NATA 2019 from 18th January 2019 and the last date for completing NATA 2019 Application Process is 2nd March 2019.

  • Correction: The correction window of NATA 2019 Application Form will be opened on 13th February 2019.

  • Admit Card: Candidates can download the admit card from the official website form 2nd April 2019.

NATA 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for NATA 2019.

  • Education Qualification:
    • Candidate passed 10+2 or its equivalent from Central or State Board of Examination.

    • Candidate passed 10+3 Diploma from any affiliated university.

    • Candidate with International Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of Schooling is also eligible to apply for NATA 2019.

  • Lateral Entry: There are no lateral admissions in any stage/year for B.Arch course.

  • Minimum Marks: Candidates should have a minimum of 50% marks and should have studied mathematics as one of the main subjects.

NATA 2019 Application Form Details

  • Register: Candidates have to register themselves before the final date. Without registration, candidates will not be able to fill NATA 2019 Application Form.

  • Availability: Candidates have to fill up NATA 2019 application form online on the NATA official website.

  • Required Details: NATA 2019 Application Form should be filled by providing personal, educational and other required details in the application form.

  • Application Fee: The application fee is Rs. 1800/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 1500/- for SC/ST candidates.

  • Mode: The fee can be paid online using a credit card, debit card, or net banking.

  • Note: There is no need to send NATA 2019 application form through offline mode or by post.

NATA 2019 Application Process

  • Website: Visit the official website

  • Registration: Candidates need to register themselves by clicking on the Register button.

  • Details: The candidates are required to fill details like Name, Date of Birth, E-mail ID, Phone Number, etc. The applicants have to create a strong password. After entering the required details click on the "Sign up" button.

  • Credentials: Enter the credentials you have provided while registering NATA 2019 Application Form.

  • Upload Documents: Upload recent photograph and signature in the required format.

  • Fee Payment: Pay the application fee of Rs 1800/- (Rs 1500 for reserved categories)

  • Print: Print the application form and fee receipt for future use

NATA 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Sections: The examination has two sections.
    • Section - I: Mathematics and General Aptitude. This Section will be conducted via online mode.

    • Section - II: Drawing Test. It will be conducted in offline mode.

  • Duration: Part-A and Part-B will be given 90 minutes each.

  • Marking Scheme: 2 marks will be allotted for each correct answer.

  • Negative Marking: No negative marking 

  • Drawing Test: Candidates should complete two questions in 90 minutes and drawing paper will be evaluated by more than one examiner and marks will be averaged.

NATA 2019 Admit Card

  • Mode: The admit card will be available in the online mode. 

  • Availability: NATA 2019 admit card will be released on the 2nd April 2019.

  • Required: It is mandatory for the candidates to carry the admit card to the exam centre along with one of the photo IDs like Voter ID/Pan Card/Aadhar Card/Driving Licence/e-Aadhar.

  • Note: If there is any discrepancy, it must be brought to the notice of exam authorities immediately.

  • Visit the official website.
  • Click on "Download NATA 2019 Admit Card" link. 
  • Enter the required login credentials (Application number and Password).
  • Download and take print out of it.

NATA 2019 Exam centres

  • Availability of exam centres: NATA 2019 will be conducted in 136 centres, out of which 135 centres are in India and the remaining one is in Dubai.

  • Report Time: Candidates are advised to reach NATA 2019 Centre on or before the reporting time (will be printed on the admit card). No late entry in the examination premises will be allowed.

  • Note: The candidate cannot place a request for change of allocated centre and it will not be entertained by the conducting authority under any circumstances.

NATA 2019 Syllabus

  • Pattern: Candidates are supposed to prepare on the syllabus prescribed by the Council of Architecture (COA) for NATA 2019.

  • Syllabus: NATA 2019 syllabus consists of Mathematics, General Aptitude, Drawing Test.

  • Prepare: Candidate should focus on the syllabus to score well in NATA 2019 examination.

NATA 2019 Results

  • Declare: Results will be declared by the conducting authority on 2nd June 2019.

  • Access: Use your registered details and Exam/test Roll number to access NATA 2019 results.

  • Valid: NATA 2019 score will be valid only for admission in the academic session 2019-2020.

  • Scorecard: It contains details regarding candidates Name, Roll Number, Marks, Merit secured, Percentile secured etc.

  • Qualifying marks: The qualifying marks for NATA 2019 will be based on following rules such as:

    • At least 25% marks must be scored in MCQ type Questions (30 out of 120).

    • At least 25% marks must be secured in Drawing Questions (20 out of 80).

    • Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) will be based on post-exam statistics & at the discretion of the Council.

NATA 2019 Counselling

  • Commencement: The Counselling procedure of NATA 2019 will commence from 4th July 2019 after the declaration of NATA 2019 result.

  • Requirements: Candidates will have to submit Original Certificates/Documents at the time of NATA 2019 counselling.

  • Documents: Admit Card NATA 2019, Score Card, Class 10 and 12 marks sheet and pass certificate, Category Certificate (if applicable), Medical Certificate for PwD Certificate

  • Offence: In the case of any invalid documents, the candidates would be disqualified from NATA 2019 counselling.

  • Sections: The NATA exam consists of two parts which are the Drawing and Aesthetic Sensitivity Test.
  • Exam mode: The drawing test is conducted in offline mode and the aesthetic sensitivity test is conducted through online mode.

  • Negative marking: There is no negative marking.

  • Questions: There will be a total of three questions asked in the drawing test and the candidate will be given two hours to finish them. 

  • Offence: If a candidate will be found adopting unfair means, his/her candidature shall be canceled and he/she will be liable to be debarred from taking examination either permanently or for a period according to the nature of the offense.

  • Duration: The drawing test is for a duration of 2 hours.
  • Exam mode: The drawing test is an offline test.
