Introduction to JKCET 2019

  • About: Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) is an entrance examination for all those candidates who are seeking admission to various BE/ B.Tech programmes offered by Government and Private colleges of Jammu and Kashmir.

  • Conducting Authority: The JKCET is conducted and managed by the JKBOPEE (Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations).

  • Frequency: The exam is conducted once a year for admission in engineering programmes.

  • Courses: JKCET offers admission in courses such as BE/ B.Tech

  • Exam Level: It is a state level entrance exam for the residents of Jammu & Kashmir.

  • Mode: JKCET 2019 will be conducted in offline mode i.e. Pen and Paper-based Test (PPT).

  • Sections: It consists of two papers i.e. Paper 1 which is combined exam for Physics and Chemistry and Paper 2 for Biology or Mathematics as per candidate’s stream.

JKCET 2019 Eligibility

  • Nationality- Candidates must be permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir.

  • Qualifying Examination- Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized statutory Board/ University with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their subjects.

  • Qualifying Marks- 

    • Candidates belonging to general category must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in class 12 or any other equivalent exam.

    • Whereas candidates belonging to reserved categories must have secured a minimum of 40% marks in 10+2 or equivalent exam.

JKCET 2019 Application Form Details

  • Registration: Before filling the Application Form, candidates have to first register themselves on the official website. 

  • Payment mode: Candidates can pay the Application Fee in both online as well as offline mode.

  • Documents Upload: Candidates need to upload the documents such as Signature, Photograph, Thumb Impression, Other Documents scanned in jpeg/ pdf format

JKCET 2019 Application Process

  • Mode: JKCET 2019 Application Form will be available online on the official website on 1st February 2019.

  • Registration Fee: Registration Fee is INR 800/- for all the categories and genders.

  • Note: Any of the information furnished in the online Application Form is found to be false or incorrect, the candidature is liable to be rejected and the fee paid shall be forfeited.

JKCET 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Exam Mode: JKCET 2019 will be conducted through offline mode i.e. Pen and Paper-based Test (PPT).

  • Marking Scheme: Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

  • Sections: It consists of two papers i.e. Paper 1 which is combined exam for Physics and Chemistry and Paper 2 for Biology or Mathematics as per candidate’s stream.

JKCET 2019 Admit Card

  • Availability: Admit Cards will be made available for only those candidates who have filled the JKCET 2019 Application Form successfully.

  • Issue Date: Admit Card will be issued online and the candidates can download using their unique credential from 10th April 2019

  • Offline Availability: Candidates without internet facility, may avail this facility at the help desk of the I.T. section of J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations with a prior telephonic appointment, for a nominal fee of Rs. 100/- on any working day to get their Admit Card.

  • Discrepancies- If there are any discrepancies in the JKCET Admit Card, then the candidates must get in touch with the authorities concerned.

JKCET 2019 Syllabus

  • Syllabus: JKCET 2019 question paper will be based on the syllabus of Intermediate (I.Sc/ +2/ equivalent).

  • Subjects: JKCET Syllabus comprises of the four subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.

  • Reference Books: Reference Books such as 10th and 12th NCERT Books for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are recommended for the candidates to refer during the examination.

JKCET 2019 Results

  • Results Date: JKCET 2019 Results will be declared on the official website on 10th May 2019.

  • Answer Key: Candidates can check the answer key after 1 week of examination. Candidates can download the answer key from the official website.

  • Merit List: JKCET 2019 merit list will be prepared on the basis JKCET Result. Candidates with higher marks will attain a higher rank.

  • Cut-off: Cut-off will be prepared after the analysis of JKCET 2019 Result. To clear the cutoff, candidates have to secure more than 50% in the qualifying examination.

JKCET 2019 Counselling

  • Commencement: Counselling will be conducted online on 1st July 2019.

  • Counselling Fee: Candidate has to pay a Counselling Fee of INR 1200 online before the commencement date.

  • Document Verification: During the Counselling, candidates have to produce the necessary documents in order to get admission.

JKCET 2019 Guidelines

  • Read all instructions: Aspirants should read all the given instructions carefully.

  • Reporting time: Exam Centres will open 15 minutes before the reporting time. So, students are advised to be present on time. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after the distribution of answer sheets.

  • Admit card: Candidates will not be allowed to enter in the examination hall without hall ticket. 

  • Prohibited items: Candidates are advised not to carry any textual material, printed/ handwritten material in the exam hall. Mobile phones/ calculators/ pocket transistors/ electronic watches with facilities of calculator/ slide rules/ or any other such aid are not allowed inside the examination hall.

  • No eatables allowed: Tea, coffee, cold drinks, snacks, and smoking are not allowed in the examination hall during the entrance test.

  • Seating: Candidates are not allowed to change their seat in any case. They will need to sit only in their assigned place.

  • Leaving the hall: Candidates are not allowed to leave the hall before the completion of given time and without handing over the answer sheet to the invigilator on duty.

  • Entry: No person other than those authorized by the board (BOPEE) shall be allowed to enter the examination hall.

  • Candidate's conduct: The candidate’s misbehavior may lead to their disqualification from the exam. Any kind of disturbance may also lead to strict action against the candidate.

JKCET 2019 Eligibility

  • Resident: Candidates who are a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir state are eligible to apply for JKCET2019.
  • Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

  • Age: Candidate must be atleast 17 years old as on 31st Dec (2019). There is no upper age limit for appearing in the Entrance Test for admission to Engineering Courses, both in Government and Private Colleges.

  • Qualifying  Subjects: Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination with english, physics, chemistry and mathematics as their elective subjects in case of admission to B.E/B.Tech. engineering courses and in case they want to apply for medical courses then candidates must have passed the 10+2 with english, physics, chemistry and biology as their main subjects.

  •  Result Date: JKCET 2019 Result will be declared on 10th May 2019 on the official website.
  •  Answer Key: After the conclusion of entrance test, the answer key shall be displayed on BOPEE’s website in the evening of the date of conduct of examination or at 12 noon on next day and it shall remain on the website for three days.

  • Merit List: After the declaration of JKCET 2019 results, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the JKCET 2019 exam. According to that merit list counselling of the candidate will take place.
