About JEE Advanced 2019

  • Introduction: The JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) was formerly known as Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination. JEE Advanced is a gateway test to secure admission to B.E./B.Tech courses in the top engineering institutions of India viz. the 7 IITs, ISM Dhanbad and IISc Bangalore under the Joint Admission Board's guidance. JEE Advanced is the stage 2 of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Mains) and only the top 2,10,000 AIR holders in JEE Main are considered eligible for this test.

  • Conducted by: JEE Advanced is organized annually by one of the various IITs (IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Dhanbad, IIT Roorkee, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras and IIT Guwahati), in a round-robin rotation pattern. JEE Advanced 2019 will be organised by IIT Roorkie.

  • Exam Mode: JEE Advanced 2019 will be held Online (Computer Based Test- CBT).

  • Eligibility: Candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2019 examination with a valid score can take the JEE 2019 Advanced test.

  • Medium of Paper:  Candidates can take JEE Advanced paper in Hindi or English language as per their choice.

  • No. of Papers: JEE Advanced 2019 will have 2 papers and the test takers will be given 3 hours to complete the test.

  • Subjects: Paper I and paper II will contain subjects - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Both papers are compulsory.

JEE Advanced 2019 Important Dates

  • JEE Advanced 2019 will be held tentatively on 15th May 2019.

  • Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website tentatively from 14th May 2019.

  • Candidates will have to sit for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT), which will probably be held in the 2nd week of June 2019. 

  • JEE Advanced 2019 Important Dates will be notified by the conducting body on JEE Advanced 2019 official website.

  • Seat allotments will be done on basis of ranking that candidates acquire in JEE Advanced 2019 examination. Only those candidates who make it to the JEE Advanced  Merit List are eligible to participate in JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority).

JEE Advanced 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Age and Nationality: Candidates must be of Indian origin and must be born or/after 1st October 1994. Candidates belonging to categories SC/ST/PwD gets an age relaxation of 5 years. Candidates of OCI/ PIO origin are also eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2019 examination. 

  • Eligibility: Candidates must hold a valid JEE Main 2019 scorecard to fulfill the Eligibility Criteria of JEE Advanced 2019.

  • Educational requirement: Candidates must have passed 10+2/equivalent Examination with 75% aggregate marks to be eligible to appear for JEE examination. For category candidates, required marks are 65% aggregate in the 10+2/equivalent examination.

JEE Advanced 2019 Syllabus

  • JEE Advanced 2019 Syllabus consists of chapters from 10+2 level. 

  • Candidates are required to answer questions from Physics, chemistry and mathematics subjects. Candidates must go through NCERT books of physics, chemistry, and mathematics before appearing for the examination. Some important chapters are mentioned in the table below:

    Dimensional Analysis, Electromagnetic Induction, Kinetic Theory of Gases, Current Electricity, Electrostatics, Rotational Dynamics, Thermodynamics
    Solid state, solutions and gases theory, Carbonyl Compounds and their derivatives, Periodic table, Thermochemistry and the Second Law of Thermodynamics
    Probability and applications, Trigonometry, Differential Calculus, Vector, and 3D geometry, Higher Algebra
  • AAT (Architecture Aptitude Test) exam analyses the candidate's architectural skills, required for admissions in Architecture courses in IIT. B.Arch course is available for candidates at IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur. Candidates can appear for this exam after JEE Advanced exam 2019.

  • Organic Chemistry by Robert Thornton Morrison.

JEE Advanced 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Mode: JEE Advanced 2019 will be held in Online(CBT) mode only. IIT Roorkee will be organizing JEE Advanced 2019.

  • Papers: JEE Advanced 2019 Exam Pattern will be set by the conducting body. It will consist of two papers. It is compulsory to attempt both the papers.

  • Duration: JEE Advanced contains Paper I and Paper II and there will be a time duration of 3 hours each. 

JEE Advanced 2019 Application Details

  • Availability: JEE Advanced 2019 Application Forms will be made available tentatively on 30th April 2019.

  • Mode: Application forms will be made available to candidates ONLINE only, through the official website of JEE Advanced 2019. Candidates having qualified JEE Main 2019 need to register for JEE Advanced exam by logging into the official site

  • Documents: All the required scanned documents need to be uploaded by the candidate within the stipulated date and time. Late uploads or uploading wrong information will lead to cancellation of forms. 

  • Application Fee: JEE Advanced 2019 Application form fees must be paid by the candidates as instructed in the official website. Fees once paid cannot be refunded. In case of any failure of payment, candidates need to get in touch with the conducting authority without any delay.
    • The application fee for Female candidates( all category) is rs. 1300+GST
    • SC/ST/PwD Category - INR 1300+GST
    • All Remaining candidates - INR 2600+GST

JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card

  • Admit cards will be available fr14th May 2019. Candidates who have registered for the exam can download their JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card

  • Admit Card will contain details like candidate’s name, roll number, date of birth, signature, photograph, question paper language, category, and exam centre details. Candidates need to verify the details carefully to avoid any discrepancies later.

JEE Advanced 2019 Results

  • JEE Advanced 2019 Results will be declared by IIT Roorkee on their official website by 30th June 2019.

  • Candidates having same marks will get preference for higher ranking who scored higher in Mathematics section in JEE Advanced 2019 exam.

  • JEE Advanced 2019 will be announced in Online mode only for those candidates who have appeared for the exam. Results will be displayed category-wise on All India Rank basis for all the candidates.

JEE Advanced 2019 Counselling

  • JEE Advanced 2019 Counselling will be held after the publishment of results tentatively from 2nd July 2019. It will be purely based on merit and candidates will be assessed on their All-India rank, category wise in JEE Advanced 2019 examination. 

  • The JoSAA ( Joint Seat Allocation Authority) conducts centralized counselling for admission into various IITs, ISM, NIT and other Government Funded Technical Institutions.

  • Candidates who get a valid AIR ( All India Rank) on JEE Advanced 2019 will get an opportunity to appear for JoSSA counselling procedure.
