Introduction to IISER 2019:

  • About IISER 2019: IISER is an Aptitude test conducted by Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) for admissions to 5-year BS-MS degree programmes in its seven IISER colleges across India. It promotes high-quality science education that is set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

  • IISER 2019 Admissions: Admission to IISER is conducted through 3 highly competitive channels viz. IISER 2019 Aptitude exam,  KVPY exam (Kishor Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) & JEE Advanced exam after fulfilling the eligibility criteria of the selected channel. IISERs are envisioned to be the IITs of Basics Sciences.

  • Grandness: IISER is one of the leading institutions in India which provides premier education in the science and research area. These institutions have been declared "Institutions of National importance" by an Act of Parliament and being created by the Government of India.

  • IISER 2019 Course: Candidates can opt for admissions to the 5 years integrated BS-MS dual degree program with the help of IISER 2019 examination.

  • IISER 2019 Application Form: The candidates can apply for admission through three different exams separately online. IISER aptitude test (Through SCB channel), KVPY and JEE Advanced exam. The official application form of IISER 2019 will be made available from 21st May 2019.

  • IISER 2019 Campus: IISER Campus are located in Berhampur, Bhopal, Mohali, Pune, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati. In 2006, the first IISER was established at Kalyani, Kolkata, and Berhampur, Odisha, IISER was established in 2016. 

  • IISER Affiliation: It is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD), Government of India and created by the Act of Parliament. It is an Institute of National Importance (INI).

  • Enrollment: IISER accepts 1285 candidates for the BS-MS programme through their colleges every year. The number of seats allotted in each IISER ranges from 100 to 260.

  • Mode: The exam is conducted online

IISER 2019 Important Dates:

  • IISER 2019 Admission: IISER 2019 important dates for admission will give a complete schedule of events related to the admission process to the candidates. Candidate can opt any of the 3 channels, conducted once in a year to gain admission to IISER.

  • List of dates: The IISER 2019 important dates have been listed separately for KVPY, JEE, and SCB which are the 3 channels to apply for IISER.


IISER 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Channel: The IISER 2019 eligibility criteria contingent may differ based on the channel. KVPY, SBC, and JEE Advanced are the 3 channels and the shortlisting procedure for each exam differs in view of its difficulty level. 

  • Domicile: All Indian nationals, PIO, OCI  and foreign candidates are likewise qualified to apply for IISER 2019. Likewise through JEE Advanced remote understudies can apply.

IISER 2019 Application Process:

IISER 2019 Admit Card:

  • IISER 2019 Admit Card Date: On the IISER official website the conducting authority officials will announce the IISER 2019 admit card tentatively on 18th of June 2019.

  • IISER 2019 Admit Card Details: Admit card of IISER 2019 will carry details such as student's name, roll number, exam centre, date and time of the exam.  It is mandatory to take IISER 2019 Admit card to the IISER 2019 Exam Centre by the candidate.

IISER 2019 Exam Pattern:

  • IISER 2019 Exam Pattern: The IISER 2019 exam pattern comprises of 4 subjects; Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Biology with each section having 15 MCQs and the total time duration for all the section is 180 minutes.
  • IISER 2019 Marking scheme: Every correct response will be awarded (+3) marks with (-1) mark gets deducted for an incorrect response. There will be no marks deduction for unattempted responses.


IISER 2019 Exam Centres:

  • IISER 2019 Exam Centres Selection: Candidates can opt for nearby and convenient IISER 2019 exam centre to attempt the exam.

  • IISER 2019 Exam Centres Location: In total there are about 18 centres across India where IISER 2019 exams are conducted. Seats are allocated based on the availability of the seats at each IISER centre. 

IISER 2019 Syllabus:

  • IISER 2019 Syllabus: The IISER 2019 syllabus aptitude test is generally based on the NCERT syllabus of class 10th and 12th.The IISER syllabus and level of difficulty of KVPY and JEE Advanced tend to vary from that of IISER aptitude test.

  • Subjects: The examination is related to subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.


IISER 2019 Results:

  • Website: The IISER exam results are availed on its official website IISER 2019. Students are needed to download and take the print out of the IISER 2019 results.

  • Credentials: Email ID & password are to be entered by the candidate to check the IISER 2019 results, and the candidates who have scored more than cutoff marks will need to appear for the IISER 2019 Counselling Process for seat allotment.

IISER 2019 Counselling:

  • IISER 2019 Instruction: Having scored higher than cutoff marks in IISER 2019 results the candidates can apply for the IISER 2019 Counselling Process.

  • IISER 2019 Procedure: Based on the merit list provided by IISERaAdmissions will be made for the candidates. The counselling process will be conducted for IISER 2019 in July 3rd week.


IISER 2019 Channels for Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research:

Candidates can take IISER admissions through 3 channels. The admission process is delineated below.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Channel

  • To apply for KVPY examination the candidates require a valid fellowship of the current academic session. Based on its cutoff criteria, if applicable the candidates can take admission for the examination.

Joint Entrance Examination of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT—JEE) Channel

  • Eligibility for general category candidates is to secure a rank within 10000 in the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced 2019. The reserved category candidates (OBCNC, SC, ST, PD) also to secure rank within 10000

Relaxation in qualifying marks:

  • IISER 2019 Eligibility Criteria: Candidates whose scoring is equal or more than the cut-off as listed above are considered eligible to apply for the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) 2019 test.

  • IISER 2019 Reservations: Relaxation of 5% for OBC-NC and PWD category students are provided.

  • IISER 2019 Cut-off: A cut-off of 55% for all boards in 12th to candidates of SC, ST, and Kashmiri migrants category.

  • IISER opening of application portal: The application portal will be open from the first week of 21st May 2018 to the 8th June 2018.

  • IISER first round of allotment of seats: The first round of allotment of seats under the KVPY and JEE Channel will be in the 2nd week of June, 2018.

IISER 2019 Eligibility

  • Applicable: The candidates who fulfill all the criteria will be appplicable to apply for the IISER 2019 Examination.

  • Nationality: All Indian Nationals, Person of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI), and foreign candidates are all eligible to apply for the IISER 2019 examination under JEE advanced.

  • Rejection: The application form will be tend to rejection if the candidate do not fall in the eligibility criteria of the IISER 2019.

  • Aggregate Marks: Candidates belonging to the General/OBC-NCL Category must score at least 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree without rounding off to satisfy eligibility criteria for IISER 2019.

IISER 2019 Documents Required:

  • Marksheet: Scanned copy of the Scorecard in which the candidate's subject-wise marks are clearly visible. The scanned copy must also be in png/jpg/BMP format and not larger than 2MB in size.

  • Photograph: Candidate must have a passport size photograph. The photograph must be in png/jpg/BMP format and not larger than 2MB in size.
  • Registration Details: Candidates need to have their IISER 2019 registration details if the candidates are applying through the KVPY or IIT Channel, for the respective exams from their official portal.

IISER 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Subjects: The IISER 2019 examination will consist of the questions from the subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. 

  • Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Type: Objective Multiple Choice Type questions will be asked in IISER 2019 exam.

  • Questions: There will be 15 questions from each subject in the IISER 2019.

There are three different rounds of counselling for IISER admission:
