Joint Entrance Examination - Mains or JEE Mains is a national level entrance exam performed by the NTA to grant admission to B.E, B.Tech, B.Plan and B.Arch programs at the IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) across the country.

JEE Mains is an online computer-based test brought out by the National Testing Agency for students seeking to pursue undergraduate courses in India's top engineering institutes. It is the initial stage of the IIT Joint Entrance Examination. The examination shall take place in two sessions, and the aspirants can take the test either in January or in April. Candidates may prefer to appear for one or both of the exams.  IITs, CFITs, NITs, and other Government funded technical institutes grant admission to students who secure a good score in JEE Main. Only the top 2.5 lakh score holders in JEE Main will qualify for JEE Advanced admission to various IIT undergraduate engineering programs in India.

Choose Password

Candidates must choose a secure password after filling the application form of JEE Mains. The password must be over eight characters, and less than 13 characters, and must have at least one upper alphabet, one lower alphabet, one numeric value, and one unique character such as [email protected]#$%^&*_. Candidates must select a security question and answer that question.

Candidates must choose the password, as they will require the password for future login purposes.

Uploading the scanned documents:

Candidates must upload the photograph signature as mentioned in the guidelines. Candidates who are appearing for 10+2 examination can upload their admission card, whereas candidates who already appeared for 10+2 examination can upload the 12th mark sheet. The score required to secure admission in NITs through JEE Mains is around 80-90 percentile. The applicants must be in the top 15,000-20,000 rank ranges to get admission. Candidates must carry the admit card in the examination centre and must reach the examination centre 30 minutes before the examination starts.

JEE Mains Application Form Correction

NTA has opened online submission of the application form from 15 December 2020 to 15 January 2021. Along with that, the final day for successful transaction of the application fee will be on 16 January, 2021.

Some rules are set by NTA for making the corrections. The aspirants can change only those details which are allowed by NTA, such as:

JEE Mains 2021 February - Exam Dates Announced

The JEE Mains Exam 2021 will be held on 23, 24, 25 and 26 February, 2021. The National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a public notification on 15 December, 2021, announcing the dates of the JEE Mains Examination 2021 for February session. The exam will be conducted in two shifts where the first shift will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift will be from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Facility for the correction of Online Applications for JEE Mains 2021

For the online applications for JEE Main (February), on-demand from various candidates, the application correction window for Candidate Particulars and Choice of Centre Cities would be made available to candidates from January 19 to January 21, 2021. The corrections to the online applications will be accepted up to 5.00 PM, and the submission of the fee will be open till 11.50 PM. The additional fee can be paid through Credit/ Debit/ Net Banking/UPI/ PayTM.

The exam centre cities will be allotted by the NTA to candidates based on their choice of the exam centres in their application forms and will be subject to the availability of capacity in the desired city. There is a possibility of a different city being allotted to a candidate, and that might be solely due to administrative reasons. The decision of the NTA will be final, and the final update will be reflected only after the fee payment.

Candidates are advised to pay careful attention while making changes to the particulars as this will be their last chance to make any changes in their application forms for JEE Mains 2021.
