The result of the JEE Main Paper 2 exam is yet to be announced. This year, Candidates will not receive a hard copy of the JEE Main Result for Paper 2. The NTA specifies that candidates can download the result through the JEE Main 2021 applicant's account online. The 2021 April JEE Main Result will mention both the sessions' scores, i.e., January and the April exam (provided candidates appeared for both exams). The NTA will also consider the best of these raw scores and prepare the JEE Main Merit List 2021. Once the JEE Main Result Paper 2 for April Session is released, the All India Rank is provided to candidates. The All India Rank is subject to the normalized scores of both sessions of the JEE Main 2021.

The number of candidates who registered for the JEE Main Paper 2 exam was 138410 out of which 112679 candidates appeared for the exam.

How to Check JEE Main Paper 2 Result?

The results for the JEE Main paper 2 January session is yet to be announced after the exam begins. by the NTA (National Testing Agency). The result is formulated based on the answer key for JEE Main paper-2. The steps to check the JEE Main paper-2 result are as follows:

  • Visit the official website for JEE Main 2021: jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Click on the ‘result’ tab to check your results.
  • The candidate has to log in using their application number and date of birth or password, click on the ‘submit’ tab.
  • The candidate will be directed to a new web page that shows the results as well as the candidate’s scorecard.
  • The candidates can download their JEE Main results and take copies of it for future reference.

Details included in the JEE Main Paper 2 Result 2021

The following information would be available on the result page of JEE Main 2021 Paper 2. Once the results are uploaded, the candidates can check for all the details using their login credentials.

  • Name of the candidate
  • Candidate’s JEE Main 2021 Roll Number

  • State Code of Eligibility
  • Subject wise NTA Scores

  • For candidates who choose to attempt only one session which is either January or September, the JEE marks obtained in each subject and the total score for the session attempted will be present in the JEE scorecard.
  • For candidates who attempt both the sessions in January and September, the total normalized JEE marks obtained in the first and second session along with the All India Rank and Category Rank would be present in the JEE Main 2021 Paper 2 scorecard.

Compilation of JEE Main 2021 Paper-2 (B.Arch and B.Plan) Result

The JEE Main 2021 B.Arch and B.Plan result is declared as a scorecard. The candidates can check their overall percentile as well as section-wise marks in each subject in the scorecard. The method used for the compilation of results for both B.Arch and B.plan paper is the same, irrespective of the different question paper for each course.

The compilation of the results for B.Arch and B.planning paper is done in the following ways:

  • Calculation of the raw marks obtained using the marking scheme of the exam (+4 for the answer and -1 for wrong answers)
  • Conversion of the raw marks into percentile score / JEE score for the overall score and all the sections separately.
  • Allotting All India Rank (AIR) based on the NTA score of the candidates. In case 2 or more candidates get the same NTA score, the tie-breaking methodology is applied.

JEE Main 2021 Cut off for B. Arch and B. Planning 

The JEE Main 2021 cutoff will be processed after the exam result. To move forward for admission, candidates need to score more marks than prescribed in the cut-off. The minimum marks needed for admission are based on certain factors mentioned below. 

  1. The previous year cutoff
  2. Exam difficulty
  3. Number of candidates appearing for the exam
  4. The marking trend.

JEE Main 2021 Tie-Breaking Method for Paper-2

Even though B.Arch and B.Planning use the same method for the compilation of marks, the tie-breaking method is different for them. The tie-breaking method for each course is as follows:

B.Arch

  • Candidates who obtain higher marks in Mathematics is given a higher AIR
  • Then, candidates who obtain higher marks in the aptitude test is considered
  • Next, candidates obtaining higher marks in the drawing test are considered.
  • Then, the candidates who are older in age are given better AIR.
  • In the case of no resolution, the candidates are given the same rank.

B.Planning

  • Candidates who obtain higher marks in Mathematics is given a higher AIR
  • Then, candidates who obtain a higher score in the aptitude test are considered.
  • Next, candidates obtaining higher marks in the planning test are considered.
  • Even if there still remains a tie, then candidates older in age are given better AIR.
  • In the case of no resolution, candidates are given the same rank.
