BAMS

BAMS full form is Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery is an integrated degree in the medical field specially designed to teach students the systems of the traditional Indian system of Ayurveda. The course objective is to prepare students to provide primary education and knowledge in the many fields of Ayurveda Science and its application for different health studies and problems. Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery covers the extensive study and BAMS syllabus includes studies in life structures, physiology, standards of the solution, social and preventive pharmaceuticals, toxicology, and trains students with the traditional methods in modern science. On completing such a degree, students become eligible to practice as Ayurvedic Doctors.

BHMS

BHMS full form is for Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery covers various aspects of medical knowledge of the homeopathy system. The Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery covers the theoretical and practical knowledge of the homeopathic system. Homeopathy is based on the self-healing power of our bodies and focuses on accentuating that. One of the most popular medication systems in India along with Allopathy and Ayurveda, Homeopathy is widely practiced. On completing such a degree, students become eligible to practice as a doctor in homeopathy.

BAMS Vs BHMS: Course Duration and Fees

The BAMS courses are undergraduate-level courses in Ayurvedic education. These course durations are of five & a half years.  On completing such a degree, students will be awarded with the title “Ayurvedacharya” and become eligible to practice as Ayurvedic Doctors. During the course, the students provided the theoretical topics in the first four & half years after which it is mandatory for the students to have completed their one year of internship for the practical training of the course. The same lies with the BHMS courses as well which focuses on homeopathic education.

The Fees for both BHMS and BAMS may vary depending upon the selection of the colleges. On an average basis, the BHMS course fee is between INR 5L – 25L, and for the BAMS course, it’s between INR 2L – 7L.

BAMS Vs BHMS: Admission Process and Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for pursuing both Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery and Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery courses is that the students should have completed their Class 12 with Biology with at least 45-50% from a recognized board.

Both BAMS and BHMS require students to go through the NEET exam. The admission process is based on the final merit based on NEET cut-off score.

NEET is an acronym for the National Eligibility cum entrance exam, an undergraduate entrance exam conducted by the national testing agency. Qualified students will be allotted seats as per all India NEET UG rank.

For BAMS and BHMS cut off is a student must score above 475 then it will be safe to secure a seat in the general category.
