YMCA College of Physical Education is one of the oldest physical education institutions in India and also it is 1st Physical Education institution in South East Asia. It was established in the year 1920, founded by Harry Crowe Buck who was a pioneer in physical education training in India and it was registered under UGC act. It is a project of National Council of YMCAs in India and it stands as a hallmark for training physical education. It is an aided college of Govt of Tamilnadu.
