Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering), batch of 2020
Societies & Associations 7/10

There are 100+ clubs and chapters. You can be a part of any if you get selected. There are Management, Technical and Design teams mainly. Rivera is our fest which is the 3rd largest fest in Asia. Along with that, the campus is very big and you will never feel trapped. It's a fun place to be.

College Infrastructure 7/10

The hostel is very big. With over 10+ buildings with a minimum of 5 floors, it has a large student capacity. The fee depends on the type of room you choose (AC/N AC) (1, 2,3,4,6 bedded). There are PGs and flats available but I haven't done any inquiry about that. I prefer the hostel ambiance. It's strict and well maintained. The food is also good ranging from South to North, veg, non-veg. WiFi is available for all students with a usage of 10 GB/month.

Academics & Faculty 9/10

They follow a flexible schedule. Means you can choose your teachers, classroom, subjects. The quality of teaching depends on your learning, I believe that. The college is really fun to be in with its 100+ club and chapter.

Fees and Scholarship 7/10

My course fee is lower compared as to my batch mates. I pay INR 1.5 lakh for tuition while others pay INR 2 lakh. I receive INR 50K scholarship every year. The scholarship is offered based on your performance of their entrance exam.

Placements & Internships 6/10

I am doing an internship in a company incubated in my college. There are many companies and as they have position's available they take interns. The average salary for the year 2016-17 was INR 1.2 lakh p.a for CSE.

Admissions

The entrance was relatively easy compared to JEE Main. The questions were quick to solve and direct. The examination type was online.

Though there might be a tough time in dealing with all the tests(quizzes, cats, and tee), you will enjoy for sure through events by many clubs and chapters. How come my answer gets complete without mentioning about clubs and chapters? Yeah, there are many clubs and chapters, which varies from rocket science to dancing, artificial intelligence to cooking. Be a part of it, and get most out of it.

College Infrastructure 10/10

The hostel facilities are pretty great all things considered and even the mess food isn't as bad as it is in many other colleges in the country. There is room for improvement, of course, but all the messes serve palatable, good quality food in hygienic conditions which is a pretty good deal.

Academics & Faculty 6/10

The FFCS system is a double-edged sword. It is very good and quite efficiently managed, considering the sheer number of students that it serves. On the flipside, if you happen to have a bad time slot in your lottery, you're basically screwed. The system is meant to be used when the teacher-student ratio is decently balanced and there are sufficient courses on offer for all. This is far from being remotely true in VIT and this is why FFCS fails miserably for a number of students every year.

Fees and Scholarship 7/10

The course fee depends upon the rank of the entrance exam. It varies from INR 1.8 L to 5.5 L a year. The scholarship is awarded to students who excel in the studies and hold a good rank in their respective branches.

Placements & Internships 7/10

The alumni network is very strong and the placements are just as good. There are more than 150 companies that visit for campus recruitment every year.
