There are about 20 different clubs for students depending upon their interest. All different festivals are promoted and celebrated here.
The campus has many hostels for boys and girls of all years. The hostel fee is about INR 37k per semester. The food cost is included in the hostel fee. There are huge classrooms, library, playgrounds, lush greenery in the 220-acre campus with Wifi connection.
The college lasts for five days of a week where the timing for each day starts from 9 am - 1 pm (teaching) and 2 pm - 6 pm (practicals). Students are provided the best in class teaching facilities and the faculty is well qualified. The laboratories are well maintained for first-hand knowledge. There is a library of three floors having books of the wide variety. The teaching helps students to develop their minds to innovate and excel.
The course tuition fee is nearly INR 65k plus other miscellaneous fees per semester and there are two such semesters per year. There are scholarships for students having less income than INR 1 LPA and for students belonging to reserved categories.
There are a lot of high profile companies visiting the campus for hiring purposes which include Amazon, DirectI, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan Chase, Siemens, HeroMoto Corp, Mercedes, Reliance, Coal India, JSW Steel etc. The highest amount of package is INR 22 lakhs offered by Goldman Sachs. The percentage of placement is very good. The Alumni Network is very strong.
Society of VNIT is good because of the greenery of VNIT. Students of different parts of India come together where there is no culture difference and in languages too. They live together in a room they know each other as Indian.
Infrastructure is good, as this year 3 more new hostels are opened, and a new building common for all branches is also opened.
Class timing starts at 8 and goes up to 12, then lunch. After lunch as per schedule classes are up to 6 in the evening.
The fee structure is INR 2.50 lakhs. There are scholarships available for poor and lower income family. Being a central government college, the fee is little high according to me but still, it is ok.
Placement of the institute is good, talking about internship it is also good.You can do some projects under some well-educated professors, they will help whenever you need any projects, further the average placement package depends upon different branches. As in computer science placement is approx 10 lacs whereas in mining INR 6 Lakhs in Avg. From this college, too many good alumni are there. In this college, special preferences are given to sports and always some functions are there regarding that.
Criteria for admission is that you have to qualify JEE MAIN Exam with good rank.You need to be under 20 thousand rank in that (JEE-MAIN) entrance examination as cutoff are different for different courses. For MSc or MTech you how to clear GATE exam. For PHD for higher education, you have to clear an entrance exam.
