VJTI is considered among one of the best institutes of Maharastra after IITB. Odd sems start from first week of July and end on first week of November. Even sems are much shorter which usually lasts for only 4 months. VJTI has the longest vacations in Maharashtra which students generally utilize for making projects or doing internships. End Sem Exams(ESE) get over within 10 days, so you must prepare before the exams start if you score high pointers. Professors are pretty average while some are exceptionally good.

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Civil Engineering), batch of 2017
College Infrastructure 8/10
  • Hoste consists of 5 blocks (one block for girls). Hostel is in poor state and infrastructure is degrading. No renovation works are being done. Toileteris have no flushing provision.
  • PGs can cost upto 7000 INR per month in city like Mumbai.
  • College food is average. But the hotel mess and canteen kitchens are very unhygienic and filthy although food cost is low. A lunch plate costs 40 rupees.
  • Quality of class rooms of civil department is the best in India probably. Fully air conditioned and superb interiors. College I'd equipped with WiFi but students need to pay for it per hour.
Placements & Internships 8/10
  • I had done an internship after my second year with MangalMoorti Developers Pvt. Ltd. at a Slum Rehabilitation project in Mankhurd, Mumbai. Stipend was 4000 INR per month. Internship was for duration of one month.
  • Companies hiring from our campus include construction giants like LnT, Godrej, Lodha, Shapoorji Pallonji and other reputed developers/contractors in Mumbai.
  • Average salary for on-campus placement is Rs 4-5 lakhs per annum for civil engineering stream. Highest salary may go upto Rs 7-8 lakhs per annum. 95% of the students are placed on campus.
  • Alumni network is strong. Students often have guest lectures arranged by the Alumni. Recently the alumni renovated out infrastructure and the Civil Department now has fully air conditioned classrooms.
Fees and Scholarship 8/10
  • Fees varies from 50,000 INR to 60,000 INR per year (for Open Category) depending upon the year of engineering and stream.
  • Scholarship available to students is generally based on caste. Being a student from General category, its difficult to avail scholarships. Considering this a government college, the fees should be more subsidized.
  • Loans are availed through State Bank of India. But its a tedious process.
Academics & Faculty 10/10
  • The college starts at 9 am.
  • Our professors are highly experienced and demand strict punctuality from students for lectures. Lectures are very interesting and are non-exam oriented. Most professors are more keen on giving knowledge. Lectures are highly interactive. We are asked to give individual and group-wise presentations on various topics very often in the class.
  • Overall, the experience is amazing. Due to the quality of teaching, we students love to attend lectures.

  • There are scholarships available on merit basis to students having excellent educational background.
Academics & Faculty 10/10

Class timing is good and starts at 9 in the morning.Paper pattern and questions are really interesting and something in which you have to apply your brain.I am yet to for a project as students go for projects in the 7th semester although i believe that project will be a very good opportunity to apply engineering skills in a real world scenario. The assignments are on a easy side since there a direct questions from the book The faculty is not highly qualified. From my last six semester experience maximum of 2 teachers were capable to teach a subject properly. The faculty is helpful and are available for one to one session their cabins.

Overall methods of teaching is ok. I'm satisfied with the placements of VJTI as it's providing us lots of internship and ppo offers starting from 6th semester. It's good enough for placements compared to rest of colleges in Mumbai.I will suggest future aspirants to go for VJTI its really good compare to other engineering in all the aspects.

  • College canteen is famous for its cheap and tasty food. Per meal food cost around 40rs.
  • Our college has good quality classrooms.labs are ok ok.Library is well equipped. We also have wifi connectivity.

Fees and Scholarship 8/10
  • We are from the batch of 2012. So, our fees always lie around Rs 50k per annum. It has increased though for the upcoming batches. Moreover, the OBC candidates had to pay just Rs 20k per annum around as the fees. I think education is almost free here for SC- ST.
  • The fees is so low that hardly any loans are needed.

Academics & Faculty 8/10
  • We do not have a perfect daily routine. It changes as per the time table. We have two In-semester exams and one end semester exam for each semester. Assignments get checked on a weekly basis.. VJTI Electrical dept has good quality teaching.
  • The method of teaching is no different than other colleges. The lent is always rewarded. The biggest strength of VJTI is the crowd here. Some of the excellent students in Maharashtra come here to study. There's exchange of knowledge and ideas and lots of fun in the process.
  • The overall experience in the college was amazing!

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering), batch of 2019
College Infrastructure 9/10
  • There are 3 hostels for boys and 1 for girls . 20 students from each branch get opportunity to get hostel facility and selections are based on merit. Hostel fees is Rs 20000 per year and mess fees is Rs 25000 approx per year.
  • Canteen in college is excellent and you get 50 rupee meal(very tasty). Other snacks are also available at very reasonable price .
  • Infrastructure is not that good ,may be because it is very old institute. Even though they have maintained it very nicely. Free WiFi is available in college but speed is not very fast but good. For educational purposes internet lab is also there for students where you can access e library also.
Placements & Internships 9/10
  • Computers, IT, finances ,mechanical, related companies come in greater extent.
  • More than 90 percent of people get placements in the college. Rest choose for the post graduation. Companies from several sectors come every year. Average package of Rs 5 to 6 lakhs per annum is achieved by a good student. Highest packages go for Rs 25 to 50 lakhs per year for at least 5 to 10 students.
  • The alumni of Vjti is excellent and many scientists and good engineers are out from here. Its a more than 128 years legacy.
Fees and Scholarship 10/10
  • The fees of college is quite normal one just like many other government colleges. Overall fees for only studying here(without hostel and mess) is INR 70000 annually. Approx for general category students and INR 30000 annually for obc students, and even less for other categories students respectively.
  • Scholarships are also available easily here, there is special department of scholarships in college which looks for providing scholarships to needed students.
  • The alumni association of Vjti also give several scholarships to needy students.
Academics & Faculty 10/10
  • Academics is very good in this college,as very well known to most of the people;being one of the oldest college in India,it ha maintained its standards with good quality and very well qualified teachers. The timing of lectures for different batches is different but overall time table is not that hectic. You get enough time to do sports, reading, projects, assignments. Teachers regularly give assignments on covered portions time to time and do check them seriously because the evaluation system in college is continuous evaluation type,so assignments and good performance in class regularly matters a lot. Lots of extracurricular activities are also their which are run by students themselves like Robotics society, entrepreneurship cell, etc.
  • My personal experience is very good about the college and u love it and being here.
