There are many associations created by different Branches in the college Tiara is the main festival of the college. College is good in studies but you can't enjoy a students life

College Infrastructure 9/10

The hostel is good it's a 7-floor building and the fee over there is INR 2,500 per month Food if the hostel is good. Classrooms and labs are always clean and the environment of the college is the best.

Academics & Faculty 10/10

College starts at 9 am and ends at 5 pm normally. There is an interval at 10:50 am to 11:10 am and lunch break is at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Teaching is good. Not all the teachers are good, almost all are good except few. It's good but studies are being given a lot of attention more than anything else so it's hard for us to always be in such environment.

Fees and Scholarship 7/10

The course fee varies depending on the branch and the year. My fee per year is about INR 1,60,000 (civil branch) and branches like mechanical and computer science fee is about 2,20,000rs (only for people who come through management) Scholarship depends upon the students cast and I get almost INR 45,000 as scholarship per year Almost 75% students get a scholarship in our college.

Placements & Internships 6/10

Have not done any internship yet . Key companies such as Amazon web and Infosys are the ones who hire most if the people from our college


St Joseph Engineering College is a Religious Minority Institution and admissions are governed as per religious minority institution status, as stated/declared by Government of Karnataka. Selection is based on the merit of the candidate in the qualifying examination and Entrance test marks. Selection and admission will be provisional and is subject to the norms prescribed by AICTE, VTU, and Government of Karnataka. The candidates who meet the qualification are required to appear for entrance test and interview to be conducted at St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor Mangalore or any other place specified by the college, the exact date of which will be intimated.

  • There is an association called cuff which is an NGO.
  • We have two big celebration ,i.e technical fest and College day
  • My life in college was good. It was pleasant and I have enjoyed it,but our college doesn't concentrate on cultural functions rather studies is given importance.

  • There is one hostel inside my campus.Boys and Girls are provided with different hostels.
  • Food is good and the cost is pretty much how much a college going student can afford.
  • Classrooms are well maintained and clean.
  • Labs, Libraries ,Wifi Zones are provided

  • Since I got government seat(C.E.T) my fees come around 15000 per year.
  • There are many scholarships available.Moma is one among them
  • Students belonging to minority class get good amount of scholarship

  • Largest package which came this year was from Indian Navy which was around Rs.10lakh. We have key companies which are basically open to CS and ENC.
  • We have companies which come for business and sales too.Each year almost 90% get placed.
  • Our Alumni is pretty good.
  • The entrance exam for this college is KCET.
  • The typical cutoff for my course is scoring 50 on 125 in all my academic subjects.

  • Many Companies come for placements each year. However, most of them are IT based. Students are given good information about each company before applying and are fully supported by the faculty.

  • The eligibility criteria are to have a minimum of 75% in PUC.
  • Admission procedure is through KCET, COMED-K entrance examination & management.
  • I got admitted through KCET and the typical cutoff was 12000.
  • College is very good with excellent teaching environment & infrastructure.
  • It is also an eco-friendly campus.
  • SJEC is the cleanest campus in south Karnataka.
  • It has around 2000+students.

  • PGs are available outside college campus.
  • Food Quality is also Good with affordable Price.

  • Companies that visited our College during my Coarse Placement season are (ITC Infotech, HP, Tech Mahindra, Cognizent, Karmic Semiconductors, Tessolve, Microsoft GTSC, LNT infotech) and few others
  • Average Slary is Rs 3.2 Lakhs per annum, Highest Salary is Rs 9 Lakhs per annum.

  • I got seat through CET, Government fees was Rs 35000 per year and college fees was very less when compared to other colleges in the same region.
  • Many kinds of scholarships are available.
  • Loans are needed depending on the economic bakground of the student.

  • In the first semester for Chemistry Cycle, routine was quite hectic. All other semesters are well managable
