Course fee is around 60K , good numbers of students got scholorship of meagre amount, nearly 65% of the students will avail scholorship, Yes loans are lower level of interest from central banks like SBI.

IF you're from CS, and circuit branches u are going to get good chance of placement in core ,for mechanical stream fairly less chance to get into core companies.

* The eligiblity criteria are as student should complete +2 with moderate percentage, and get average rank in KCET or COMEDK, or if u perform poorly in either of the above exams, u have to go under donation quota. I had taken KCET and anything above 10K rank in KCET will fetch the admission .

Key companies are Infosys, Continental Automotive, Bharat Forge, Otis Elevators and much more which comes on the campuses to recruit the students. The average packages offered are INR 3.6 lakh to INR 6 lakh per annum. Alumi meet is good and organised once in a year.

A student has to write KCET entrance exam to get the admission. One also has to secure his/her rank below 5,000 ranks to get enrolled.

Routine is asusual with flexible college timings with periodic exams and assignments. Quality is quite great.

Course fee was about 36k(INR) and college fee of around 23k(INR). The scholarship will be only for the reserved candidates with categories from the govt. Loans will get from nearest banks like Karnataka bank inside the campus only.

Placements & Internships 7/10

Almost 90% of batch will get placed. Mostly to service-based companies irrespective of a branch you are in with. Alumni network is pretty good.

Eligibility is based on Karnataka PGCET entrance test and should secure minimum 50% of PCM combination.

There are many clubs and groups related to extracurricular activities. The main fest is HALCYON - summer fest which is the biggest fest in our college. The overall college life is good.

College Infrastructure 9/10

There are mainly 4 boys hostel and 2 girls hostels on the campus. The infrastructure is old but maintenance is good. Hostel fee is INR 60,000 per year. There are PG's on the campus. Hostel food is good. The classrooms, labs and other infrastructure are well maintained with required facilities. We have wifi facility.

Academics & Faculty 8/10

Class timing is from 8 am to 5 pm for most of the students. Quizzes are conducted regularly and assignments are mainly given during exam times. The teaching quality is good. All professors have the minimum M.Tech qualification. The teaching methods can be improved. The overall experience of the college is good.

Fees and Scholarship 9/10

My course fee is INR 65,000 per year. But for COMEDK students, the fee is INR 1,50,000 per year. There are many scholarships available. I have no knowledge about loans because I didn't take any loans.

Placements & Internships 7/10

The biggest recruiter is TCS for most of the branches. Around 60% are placed every year from the mechanical branch. The average salary is 3.5 lakhs per annum. I don't have much knowledge about the alumni.

Candidate must clear the KCET/COMEDK UGET exam and must have passed the 12th from the recognized institute to get admission in this college. The cutoff rank must be below 11,000.

I haven’t done any internship yet. Companies like TCS, IBM, Wipro, Google, etc hire our students with an average salary of 3,50,000 per annum. The highest salary offered by them was INR 9,80,000 per annum.

Candidate must clear the JEE MAIN / KCET exam and must have passed the 12th from the recognized institute to get admission in this college. The cutoff rank must be below 15000.

  • There are quite a few societies, clubs, and groups for dance, debate and extracurricular activities.
  • The college fest is Halcyon and is good. Each department has their own fest also. The quizzes and various programs by these groups are around the year. Some of them are like debating, quizzing, marathon, singing etc.
  • The general life in college is good with equal emphasis on education and extracurricular activities.
College Infrastructure 6/10
  • There are 6 hotels in the college out of which 4 if they are boys and rest are for girls. The hostel is nice, spacious and inside the campus. Hostel fees are Rs.60000 per annum. Since Tumkur is small town so a lot of P.G are not available, but few if they are there which cost around Rs.6500 per month.
  • Food is typically south Indian with a lot of local dishes. Canteen provides food for approximately Rs.30 per meal.
  • The lab is well equipped and provided by Technip. College is provided with fast ethernet as well as wi-fi. The classroom is provided with Internet facility and with a projector and other modern equipment. The college has a single centralized library as well as individual libraries of each department.

  • My college typically starts from 8:00am to 5:00pm and gets extended on project days.
  • There are 4 quizzes and 2 internal exams and 1 external university exam in a semester.
  • Teaching is quite good as teachers are knowledgeable and from esteemed colleges like Harvard.
  • I have the nice experience with teaching system in college as tend to focus both on theory as well as the laboratory.

  • My fee is Rs.160000 per annum.
  • Government scholarships are available but only on the caste system.
  • More than 40%of students get loan through a various bank,we just need to apply for it.

  • I have done my internship at Indian oil which is petrochemical company and also at Rubber factory getting a stipend of Rs.10000.
  • The company that visits my campus are MNC's like MICROSOFT, SONY, L&T, BEL, ORACLE, JINDAL STEEL.
  • The average salary is in the range of 4-4.5lakhs per annum. Approximately 90-95%of final year are placed. Alumni of college are widespread and very helpful.

  • Entrance exams for the college admission is Comedk and CET. I wrote comedk entrance exam.
  • Cutoff rank for EEE was 9000 for comedk exam. My rank was 6781 in comedk exam.

  • Many students societies are present which range from technology to cultural.
  • In general the life in college is peaceful and learning curve is OK.

  • There are 4 hostels for boys and 2 hostels for girls. Fee structure is Rs 55000 per year. Most of the hostels have south Indian mess inside them.
  • Food is hygienic and taste is OK.

  • Everyday classes start from 8am in the morning and it goes till 5pm in the evening. In between that two breaks are given for breakfast and lunch.
  • Teaching staff is average and the students mostly rely on class notes and xerox notes to pass the exams. Reading from books are also encouraged.

SIT campus is spread over 50 acres and the whole area is landscaped and is lush green. Tumkur enjoys the same salubrious climate as that of Bangalore.
At the time of inception, the institute was offering only 3 branches namely Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with a total annual intake of 120.
The institute is now offering 12 UG programmes with a total annual intake of 930 and 16 PG Programmes with a total annual intake of 432.
16 departments of the institute are recognised as research centres by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, where students can register for Ph.D programme and M.Sc. by Research. 152 research scholars are pursuing their Ph.D degree in our research centres and so far 31 research scholars have obtained Ph.D degree from our research centres.
All the departments in the institute have well equipped laboratories. The institute has over 2200 computers and are located in 29 Computer Centres which are all networked with fibre optic backbone. Round the clock internet facility is provided to all the Computer Laboratories, Faculty Chambers, Hostels, Class Rooms, through 100 Mbps leased line.
The total number of students in the campus is over 5000 and more than 50% of the students stay in seven of our hostels.
The institute has 330 well qualified and experienced faculty members out of which 90 are Ph.D holders and others Masters Degree holders. 70 more faculty members are pursuing their Ph.D programme in IISc, IITs and other reputed universities.
