Many seniors got a job with INR 80,000 per month and more. It's really superb and you learn everything and gain knowledge and power skills capacity.
Eligibility based on JEE MAIN as well as 12th marks in PCB subjects. Admission based on stream 1 and 2. JEE MAIN entrance with marks above 70 easily will join in this college.
There are various clubs and associations on campus. There are three main events, technical event, sports meet and cultural event. The life in campus is great except for the climate and distance that it takes to walk around the huge campus.
There are separate hostels for girls and boys. The students are expected to pay the room rent for a year while joining and pay the mess bill every month. The are many PGs for both boys girls and available around the campus and in Thanjavur and Vallam which are the nearby places. The food in college is really good but has only vegetarian food. The campus and the hostels have highspeed Wi-Fi. The libraries are well equipped and are the house for all kinds of books required.
The fee for master's in science is around fifteen thousand per year. Loans are not needed. Various scholarships are available to students based on certain criteria.
Companies like Dr.Reddys and Biocon hire students through campus interviews. The highest salary is 5 LPA. SASTRA has very good alumni network.
Admission was based on merit. It was based on the marks secured in the under graduation. The seats were alloted through counselling.
The class starts at 08.45 and ends at 5.45 PM. In the second semester, we had mini-project daily for about 2 hours. There was usually three CIAs internal assessment. Teaching was exceptional with the best teachers. The Faculty members were highly qualified and had immense knowledge about the subject. Classes were interactive and there was always a scope of learning beyond the syllabus.

Placements at SASTRA University is top notch with companies such as Ford, Paypal, Amazon, TCS, etc., visiting every year. About 60-70 percent of a batch is placed in a company. The major share of the students is hired by IT companies such as Tata Consultancy Services, IBM and MuSigma. There is also a small share which is hired by companies such as Hyundai and Tata Motors who work on research and development. The average salary can vary from 3.5- 4.5 lakhs with the maximum going to 20-25 lakhs per annum. Few companies like ALSTORM and Tata Motors hire a few interns during the final semester to work with students on their thesis project. SASTRA University also has a semester abroad program where students are given a choice to finish their final dissertation in a foreign university.
SASTRA University accepts students for M.Tech, MBA, M.C.A and Law depending based on the qualifying degree and applicable competitive exam scores. The competitive exams which are considered are CLAT scores in the case of Law, CAT/XAT/AIMAT/CMAT/AIMCAT in the case of MBA and GATE in the case of M.Tech. No other specific entrance exams are to be written to join Masters in SASTRA University.

For boys, there are 9 hostels and for girls, there are 5 hostels inside the campus. If you stay within 80km radius from the campus, then you will become ineligible for hostel accommodation. In this case, you can stay in the hostels paying Rs 5000 (approx) per month. And when you stay in the campus hostel you have to pay Rs 1000 per month.
Food is completely vegetarian and you can have Non-veg outside the campus. Mess fee will be around Rs 3000 per month.
The campus will be clean and good and you can find nice desks and tables in the classrooms. Wifi is available throughout the campus with good connectivity speed.
Class timing is from 8:45AM to 5:15PM. Mostly you will get 30 lectures per week. There will be two end semester examinations. Between two semester examinations you have to write 3 CIAs which will decide your internals for the semester examination.

Admissions will be based only on merit. There will be two streams for admissions. Stream 1 is the All India rank and stream 2 is the Trichy and Thanjavur rank. Stream 2 is the easiest one than stream 2. You will come under stream 2 if you finish both of your 10th and 12th standard in either Trichy or Thanjavur district. There are more than 10 clubs at Sastra campus like Linguistic clubs, robotics clubs, aerospace etc. Sastra supports all the cultural activities and sports activities.
The hotels are well designed and are good for staying. The maintenance is really good. The hostel fee depends upon the type of the rooms we select. Rooms with attached bathroom and without attached bathroom are available.
Faculties at Sastra are really well versed in their field. Most of the faculties hold a Ph.D. and all hold good posts. They teach the basics and most of the classes are projector classes which are interactive and the students can understand easily. The college runs from 8:45 am-5:15 pm and the students have free hours in which they can either be at the hostel or remain in the campus.
Sastra is one of the nominal and very affordable amongst the private universities in India. Their fee is around INR 65000/ semester. There is no scholarship for students in the beginning but as the student pursues the course.
