Basically, for an MA course, one has to complete the 10+2+3 years of study, in other words, a graduation degree is compulsory. The JNU entrance examination is a must to get in the university Usually, the cutoffs are from 60-70 %

All student are dedicated to studies. And here is a good environment of study. Campus celebrates 'anual function" every year.

College Infrastructure 7/10

There are 7hostels for boys and 3 for girls. There is no option outside the the college. Campus also provides free wi fi to students.

Academics & Faculty 5/10

Classes starts from 8 O'Clock morning to 12:30pm. There is also smart classes available.

Fees and Scholarship 5/10

The course fee per year is 5 lakhs . Only for selected student its free. There is also scholarship available exams for these Scholarship held in july. The scholarship is for 20000 best students

Student clubs and associations are available on the campuses. Farewell Party is one of the main events on the campuses. In general college life is good.

DBT sponsorship of INR 5,000 per month is available. 


For M.sc in biotechnology, One must have a graduation degree in life science or any life sciences related subject (zoology, botany, biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics etc). An all India entrance test For biotechnology CEEB has been conducted every year. To get admission in JNU, one has to rank within 20.

The campus is mainly known for its political affairs. Students mostly are engaged with student unions and their affairs. The political atmosphere is largely leftist.

So many hostels are available inside the campus and it costs INR 2200 per month including food.

The daily routine is always fixed and the faculties are very qualified.

The course fee at JNU is INR 500 per semester. The scholarships are available to the meritorious students. No loans are required as the course fee is very less.

The admission for M.Sc is done on the basis of marks obtained in B.Sc.

Integerated Msc Phd (Molecular Medicine), batch of 2022
Fees and Scholarship 9/10
  • The course fee for the entire year is Rs. 280 during MSc and Rs. 450 during PhD.
  • JNU provides scholarships to students from unprivileged backgrounds and one student with excellent academic progress is eligible for an additional scholarship. During the course of PhD, all students can avail Rs. 8,000 as a non-net scholarship provided by JNU.
  • As Jawaharlal Nehru University, [JNU] New Delhi is a Central University, there is usually no need for loans as the overall expenditure is very less.
Placements & Internships 5/10
  • SCMM is a premier institute for PhD, therefore the faculty have all their labs and as a master student, you can apply for a summer internship in one of the labs as well, but it will be subjected to availability.
  • JNU doesn't have a separate internship and placement cell and research institutes like ours anyway do not get placement offers anyway.
  • There is no stipend for the Masters, although, in the coming years, there might be.
  • Jawaharlal Nehru University, [JNU] New Delhi has been around for 10 years and has PhD awardees working in several places like ILBS, New Delhi and as faculty at several central universities. 
  • I took admission in an Integrated MSc and PhD course in Molecular Medicine from Special Center for Molecular Medicine (SCMM), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
  • To be eligible for the course, you need to have a 3 or 4 years BSc Degree in any Science, B.Tech or MBBS.
  • There is no age limit for applying to this course.
  • The admissions are taken on the basis of a written entrance test conducted by SCMM which mostly consists of General Aptitude questions followed by questions from Life Sciences.
  • The cut off is usually above 65% and these candidates are then called for an interview session.
  • A collective score of the written test + interview scores gets you a seat for the course.
  • The usual intake is 5 - 7 students per year.

  • Sports week, cultural week are celebrated often on the campus.
  • Life in college is awesome

  • Wifi facility is available in the campus.
  • The quality of food in mess is good. Food costs around Rs. 2,500 per month.
  • Rooms are OK not that good.

  • The student communities support each and every single student at Jawaharlal Nehru University.
  • There are different clubs like Mountinering club, badminton club, etc.
  • Different festivals are celebrated in campus one of them is Kallol fest which is very famous.
  • College life is just awesome.

  • There are sufficient hostels for boys and girls at Jawaharlal Nehru University and also special care is taken to handicapped during hostel allotment.
  • While hostel and mess, fee varies from Rs. 1,800-2,200 rupees per month.
  • Food quality is very good.
  • The quality of classroom is very good, labs are available.
  • Wifi is available in schools and in hostels.

  • The daily routine is best at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Classes are held 5 days in a week.
  • Timings are from 9 am-1 pm and some days 9 am-4 pm with a break at 1-2 pm.
  • Projects, Assignments are regular and are graded.
  • The quality and method of teaching are awesome, teachers are very helpful and cooperative.
  • They not only gives us book knowledge but also about the world culture and society.
  • My overall experience in JNU yet is awesome and I can't express it in words.

  • Per semester in Jawaharlal Nehru University, you have to pay only Rs. 283 which is the least in India as far I know.
  • One can get a scholarship of Rs. 2000 per month if his family income is less than Rs. 200k as far as I know.
  • On an average 70 - 90% students get a scholarship.
  • No loan is needed.

  • Since I am a first-year student I don't know much about the placements in Jawaharlal Nehru University but since it is a no.1 university for a language course and NAAC graded it A with 3.91 out of 4, one must get the best job and sufficient Salary.
  • One must be +2 passed and have to apply for JNUEEE and qualify it with good marks, cutoffs are not visible during the result but after the admission, it goes visibly on a college website.

  • The name is enough JNU is one the premier institutes with more than good enough professors to help students through everything.
  • All of them are usually Phd's in their field

  • JNU has excellent contacts abroad with different colleges and universities and students usually get scholarships to continue their studies abroad.

  • What will you call a college which charges INR 1000 max towards tution fee.
Social Atmosphere 9/10
  • JNU has plethora of things to do, something is going inside the campus at any given time of the day and in the city of Delhi you can never get bored.
Hostels & Food 6/10
  • The placements are good but can be better. The average package of economics is between 5-6LPA.
College Infrastructure 10/10
  • Being a central university there is no lack of funds thus a great looking campus with really great facilities.The library is well stocked with books to help students study also the classes are really good at Jawaharlal Nehru University

  • Since the number of students studying in Jawaharlal Nehru University is sizeable and the hostel fees (excluding mess charges) is negligible, there is a demand and supply problem- excess demand and short supply- in the campus for hostel rooms.

  • Jawaharlal Nehru University campus is aesthetically pleasing and technologically equipped.
  • It has a multi-storey library with each floor dedicated to a department.
  • The classrooms have projectors and most parts of the campus (academic block, library, and classrooms) are Wi-Fi enabled.

  • Jawaharlal Nehru University does not have a rigid placement cell.
  • Mostly, the students' initiatives drive companies to visit the campus.
