Jadavpur University is one of the finest and top universities in eastern India and the number one ranked university in West Bengal. It is ranked 6th among the architecture schools in India as per some of the reports. To be eligible to apply for architecture in this university, you have to be a student of science in your higher secondary studies. Post that, you have to apply for either Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains Paper 2 or a combination of West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE) plus National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA). It is preferable to apply for WBJEE and NATA because the seats for this combination are higher in number. The overall acceptance is of 40 students, most through WBJEE and NATA. the cutoffs are around 100 in NATA combined with a rank within 2500 in WBJEE.
The college campus was so big, at evening we out to play football n all. The canteen food was too great missing those days.

There are various student societies at JU. Some of them are the drama club, photography club, robotics club, mountaineering club, music club, debating society, quiz club, etc. The annual festival of our campus is called Sanskriti which takes place every year. Usually, life at Jadavpur University is quite happening and pleasant. The pressure of studies is moderately high. But still, you can enjoy the campus life to the fullest.
There are a total of 4 separate hostel buildings. 2 for boys and 2 for girls. The fee per month is around INR 100. If anyone doesn't want to opt for University hostel, the may avail other PG and Mess facilities outside the campus which would cost them around INR 4000 per month on an average. The food in the college is very good and tasty. The canteens are subsidised by the State Government and you can buy food at cheap rates. A filling lunch at a JU canteen can cost around INR 30. Infrastructure is moderately developed. Wifi facility is not that well developed. Though, the classrooms are clean. The computer lab and library is quite upgraded and useful.
Usually, the classes start from around 11:00 am and continue till 4:00 pm. Internals are held every Monday and the final exams takes place at the end of each semester. Projects have to be done by 3rd year students which carry marks. Projects are based on some sort of field work. The teaching method is traditional. But what matters is the quality of teaching. The Professors are highly qualified and impart the students the latest knowledge and happenings of the subject. College atmosphere is very friendly and overall it has been a pleasant as well as a challenging experience.

There are scopes for getting scholarship on various grounds. Some of them are academic excellence, poor financial background, etc. 1-2 people from our batch could get the scholarships. No loans are needed as the fee structure is very low.
I personally have not done any internships as I am in my graduate years. But there is a scope of interning from some good companies in your Post Graduate programme. Usually, Data Analytics and Banking companies hire students from our department. The average salary figure this year for PG Final Year students was around INR 5-INR 6 lakhs per annum. The highest was INR 9 lakhs per annum. Around 90% of the total strength was placed. A major benefit is the strong alumni network. Constant efforts are always made to keep the Alumni connected thereby leading to companies coming for placements solely based on the networks of our Alumni.
The eligibility criteria for admission into B.A. Economics is to have compulsory Mathematics as a subject in your class 12 boards. The candidate must secure above 75% in Mathematics to be able to apply for the course. The marks calculating scheme is as follows: Maths+(Best of 3 subjects) of your class 12 Boards. No entrance exam is held for admission into B.A. Economics. The cutoffs vary from year to year. In our year, the cutoff was 91% for General Category Students and 80% for the Reserved Category.
