National cadet corps, national service scheme. Sports, cultural. To my point of view, I enjoyed my college life but sometimes it will be so emphasis.

College Infrastructure 6/10

3hostels, average, INR 65,000/year. Somewhat okay, INR 5000/month. Worst, INR 40,000. Classrooms - good, labs-very good, library - good, dining hall- average, wi-fi-poor.

Academics & Faculty 6/10

Class timing - 8.45 am, project exam held on final year, assignment - per semester they will be 3 assignment. In my course, the quality of teaching is good. Overall experience - 5years for my course.

Fees and Scholarship 7/10

Counselling - INR 75,000, management - INR 1,12,000. The first graduation gets INR 25,000 less, sc get off their tuition fee, students who got their admission in counselling gets some amount per year based on their caste. Average no of students - 70%. If they get admission through counselling they can easily get the loan, in case of management it is very difficult.

Placements & Internships 7/10

I have done an internship based on neet biology and i have been a tutor, the stipend is INR 2000/4days. Marketing, service engineer, researcher, hospitality, manufacturer. Average salary - INR 24,000,highest salary - INR 45,000,percentage of batch placed-75%. In my college so far one batch get passed out so, regarding alumni network, it is quite good and they're all in contact.

Admissions

My course is designed as a combination of medical and engineering, so the eligibility criteria are to clear board exam and apply for Anna University counselling to get admission. No entrance exam is there to join in my college. The cutoff is based upon the college, but for my college, the cutoff is 170.

Societies & Associations 7/10
  • There are so many clubs in my clg like NSS, NCC, English language development club etc. Sports and culture is the main festival but it is not celebrated grandly.
  • We enjoyed a lot but at the same time we studied loads.
College Infrastructure 5/10
  • There are two hostels one for men's other for women's , the hostel fess is 70000 per year and I don't know about the PG.
  • The food is average and they collect average amount
  • Infrastructure is quite good at GKMCET
Academics & Faculty 5/10
  • One period has 50 mins generally. There are no project works in my college.
  • Teachers give lots of assignment in each subject and the method of teaching is really good
  • The experience in college has been really good.
Fees and Scholarship 5/10
  • I'm a first year graduate student and so fees is 50000
  • There is no scholarship options at college.
  • No loans are needed to get into GKMCET
Placements & Internships 7/10
  • No ia have'nt got any internships through GKMCET. Yes some companies came like HCl, Wipro visit college.
  • Average salary is 15000 and the highest salary is 50000 . Only students with a CGPA of 8.5 are taken into placements generally.
Admissions
  • We have to pass entrance exam of the college and the typical cutoff is 150 to get into GKMCET

Admissions
  • The cutoff required was 180 and I had a cutoff of 181.5 so I had to pick a college in that category and went in through counseling to get admission in GKM College of Engineering and Technology, [GKMCET] Chennai.
