  • Facilities & faculties are very good.
  • It is not well established so placement opportunities are not up to the mark in the civil department as well in CS and EEE placement is quite good.
  • Everyone is aware of zero attendance policy here at BITS it can be very beneficial or may even prove a disaster depending on how the individual takes it.
  • faculty is supporting and responsible in nature.

Societies & Associations :
  • There are several clubs and departments (Music Society, Dance Club, Mime Club, The Drama Club, Literary and Debating Club, Nirmaan [social change organization], Abhivyakti [Hindi Club]) and several Regional Associations [Punjabi Virsa, Maharashtra Mandal, Telugu Samiti, Sangam etc].
  • Departments are in charge of fest activities Fests: Waves, Quark, Spree.
  • College life is fun and relaxed in general. 
College Infrastructure :

14 hostels and 2 under construction Hostel fee is minimal and included in the Rs.1.5 L per semester. It comes to about 5-6k a month. Hostels have individual rooms for students. The campus is fully residential Food in the college: Decent, but there are several eateries within the campus. The mess charges are around Rs.125 per day for 3 meals. Quality of classrooms: Air-conditioned, WiFi enabled, excellent infrastructure and projectors are present in all classrooms

Academics & Faculty :
  • Daily classes are usually from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m but some electives and labs go on till 9:00 p.m.
  • Typically a student has 25-30 hours of classes in a week. 40-45 hours of classes (lectures+tutorials) per course in a semester.
  • The quality of Teaching: Well at par with all top colleges in the country.
  • The method of Teaching: Slides, whiteboard, assignments, pop quizzes, class discussions and presentations with a special emphasis on lab work.

  • Rs.1.5 L per semester, 2 semesters in a year.

Societies & Associations :
  • There's a Club for almost everything, for every subject at Birla Institute of Technology and Science. If you feel that some club is missing - You can create your own club.
  • There are three main festivals - Cultural Fest: OASIS - India's second largest Cultural Fest. There's the Sports Fest: BOSM [BITS Open Sports Meet] and the Technical Fest: APOGEE.
  • The life in college is enjoyable.
College Infrastructure :
  • There are 14 Hostels in all - 13 Boys and a Big one for All Girls and the fee is minimal at Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
  • Almost everyone stays in Hostels only and not outside of campus.
  • The Food of the college is of great quality and of different varieties - Northern, Southern, Western, Chinese - a lot of options.
  • There's the ANC[All Night Canteen] which is open until 2 am and offers a large variety of great food at great prices.
  • The overall infrastructure is brilliant and aesthetic, lots of greenery around and beautiful scenery.
  • There's WiFi available at most academic places including the Library and some Hostels.
  • LAN is available in all hostels except the ones which have WiFi.
  • The Messes are big, modern and clean.
  • Library is one of the best in India. Issuing books is automated. Labs are modern and have all essential equipment.
  • The Classrooms are good, spacious and many are Air-Conditioned.
  • Overall - Everything is great here.
Academics & Faculty :
  • The students get to make their own timetable, choose their teachers, there's a lot of flexibility on the timings as well at Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
  • You can have classes in between 8 AM to 5 PM only.
  • The Exams and Assignments are nicely distributed, thus you have to work all through the semester.
  • The Quality of teaching is simply great. You have lectures and tutorials. In lectures you get to know a topic, in tutorials problems are solved and doubts are cleared.
  • The professors and teachers are very friendly and always ready to help.
  • It is a really nice place to study in. Once you start enjoying studies, you'll love it here.
Fees and Scholarship :
  • The Course Fee Along with all other necessities comes out to be about Rs. 15 Lacs for 4 Years and Rs. 18 Lacs for 5 Years [Dual Degrees: Msc+BE].
  • There are a lot of Scholarships available to the students including the MERIT Scholarships [Exceptional performance] and the MERIT-cum-NEED scholarship [Good Performance along with low income ~8 lpa]. The scholarships are off 20%, 40% and 80% waiver on tuition fees.
  • About 6% students get 80% Scholarship, 12% get 40% Scholarship and 24% get 20% Scholarship.
  • Most of the students apply for a loan and it can very easily be availed from most of the banks - The Most Popular being SBI, Pilani.

  • There are abundant Internship opportunities in BITS. There are PS-I and PS-II in which you have to Intern during your 2nd and 4th Year.
  • Companies from all sectors hire from Campus.
  • Average Salaries are not generally disclosed, Almost 100% of the Batch is placed. The Salaries are comparable to the salaries of Top IITs and tend to be very high for CS & EEE graduates.
  • Highest Salary is generally close to Rs. 2 Crores(Converted to INR from USD).
    The Alumni Network is strongest compared to all other institutions, universities in India and is very helpful, has frequent gatherings as well.
Admissions :
  • The ELIGIBILITY Criteria to join Birla Institute of Technology and Science is:
  • You must have strictly secured more than 75% marks in your respective Board Examination.
  • To get admitted you have to clear BITSAT (The Entrance Exam) - An online exam which tests your concepts, speed and accuracy.
  • You can appear for it only twice (Appearing for Boards and the following year).
  • The minimum cutoff for Pilani Campus for Year 2016 was 305 out of 450 (For MSc Biological Sciences)
  • BITSAT is an Online exam consisting of a possible 162 questions (150 Regular + 12 Bonus) ( 3 marks each )
    If you complete all 150 questions before time, you can unlock 12 Bonus questions
    Thus, You can score a possible 486 in the Exam if you correctly answer all 162 questions.
  • It consists of Mathematics(45 Questions),Physics(40 Questions),Chemistry(40 Questions) and English and Logical Reasoning(10+15 Questions).
  • The competition is tough as 70 students compete for 1 seat and your speed and accuracy will determine how you perform.
  • BITSAT is conducted starting from the Second Week of May - It's conducted on 14 Days

  • Eligibility criteria for a bachelor degree at Birla Institute of Technology and Science is that you should pass out 12th.
  • Admission procedure is too easy fully online.
  • Only you can get admission based on BITSAT.
  • The cutoff for electronics and electrical was 363 and for electronics and instrument was 345.

  • An uncountable number of student societies are there at BITS Pilani.
  • The main festivals on the campus are ATMOS(technical), ARENA(sports), PEARL(cultural)
  • Cannot describe the life in the college. To understand the feeling you must come to Campus and see for yourself.
College Infrastructure :
  • 8 hostels are there at BITS Pilani.The fee is Rs 12000 per semester.
  • No idea about the PG option.
  • The cost of the meal is Rs 112 per day. The quality of food is average.
  • The quality of classroom is good. Labs are average.
  • Library is one of the best.
  • Dining Hall is Good.
  • WiFi(LAN) facility is poor at our college.
Academics & Faculty :
  • The daily routine is up to us. No mandatory attendance is required.
  • The quality and method of teaching are good. We can select teachers ourselves.
  • The overall experience is not bad at BITS Pilani. 
Fees and Scholarship :
  • The course fee is around Rs 2.5 lakhs per annum. It will increase every year around 12-15% due to inflation.
  • Scholarship options are there but on the basis of merit and on the basis of family income (Merit Cum Need) If family income is less than Rs 6 lakhs per annum.
  • About more than 50 % of students get a scholarship, I think at BITS. Not sure.
  • Loans are up to you. State Bank of Hyderabad which is located inside the campus provide loan.
Placements & Internships :
  • I have done an internship for 2 months at INCAP Limited.
  • Google, Microsoft are the key companies visiting BITS Pilani. 
  • The average salary figure is Rs 6.5-7 lakhs per annum and the highest salary figure is Rs 58 lakhs per annum.
  • 90% of the students get placed(I think not sure)
  • Many talks happen with Successful Alumni

  • BITS Pilani comes in the list of one of the most beautiful campuses in India.
  • There are 9 hostels overall.

  • The best thing about BITS is we make our own timetable.
  • The class usually starts from 8am depending on the student.

  • There are students societies and associations present one of which is Crux- programming club, music club, dance club, photography club, movie club, shades- art club.
  • The main festival on campus are ATMOS- technical fest, Pearl- cultural Fest, Arena- sports fest
  • The life in college is great. Everyone has the best experience here in BITS, Pilani.
College Infrastructure :
  • 6 hostels are there in BITS, Pilani.
  • Hostels are really cool. Everyone is allotted a single room.
  • The hostel fee is  INR 4000/- per month.
  • There are no PGs.
  • Food is good in BITS, Pilani.
  • The quality of classrooms are world class, labs are exceptional.
  • Library is out of the world with a great collection. Dining halls are big and clean, the full campus has wifi and Infrastructure is the best in India. We also have the largest auditorium in Asia.

  • Faculties are really qualified, most of them are PHDs from renowned foreign universities.

  • Lots of clubs and departments, very vibrant culture and life. Awesome culture, brilliantly maintained batch after batch. 
  • Enjoyable experience.

  • Hostels and accommodation facilities are well built and maintained.
  • Food and mess is hygienic and lot of variety across Pan-Indian cuisines since there are students from all across the country.
  • Good infrastructure, Mess is decent too. 

Academics & Faculty :
  • The daily Routine could be hectic. But relaxed life owing to 0% attendance rule
  • Method is state of the art, quality is decent.

  • Average salary is Rs 6.82 LPA (official) and Highest domestic is Rs 44 LPA (Schlumburger) and Percentage placement: 85-90%. 
  • Alumni network: One of the largest among Indian institutes. Extremely well connected.

  • The Eligibility criteria is clearing BITSAT, an online national engineering entrance examination. Standard JEE-level Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with basic English proficiency. 
  • At my time of admission, only students with >80% in P,C,M were eligible for the entrance exam. 
  • Cutoffs are typically on the higher side, and increasing significantly each year owing to a greater number of aspirants, awareness about various courses and past record of previous batches at BITS.

  • Some hostels are good, some are ok and some suck.
  • As for the classes, the new academic block is really awesome with new infrastructure but other buildings mostly suck.
Placements & Internships :
  • Many good companies including Oracle, Intel Sandusky etc come for on campus placements. As for other branches, the placements have declined for a past few years.
Fees and Scholarship :
  • Fees increase at the rate of 15% every year which is too much.
  • One is the merit scholarship awarded to top 1 % of the batch. Other is MCN ( merit cum need) which is awarded to people having income less than 6 LPA.
Academics & Faculty :
  • There is a 0% attendance rule which scraps any requirement of attendance in getting our degree. Still, it's recommended you to attend all the classes as they help a lot.

There are many clubs, departments and associations in our campus like Dance club, mime club, BITS Robocon, inspired Karters, Shelleco, music club, Gurukul etc etc. The college has 3 fests- BOSM(sports fest), Oasis(cultural fest), APOGEE(tech fest).Life in college is awesome, there is always something happening.

  • There are about 12 hostels in our college and hostel fees is INR 9,000/- per semester.
  • PGs are not available.
  • Food in the mess is okay.
  • Classrooms, labs, library and dinning halls are very good.
