There are several clubs present in the Assam Engineering college, namely: 1. Coding club: for interested programmers 2. JAM club: for those interested in music 3. Riders club 4. Drama club 5. SOVIC: Social responsibility cell, for social services throughout the state 6. BEAT HOUSE 7. Photography club and many more. The main festivals of Assam Engineering College are 1. Udbhavnam (Technical fest) 2. Pyrokinesis (Cultural fest).
There are a total of 9 hostels in Assam Engineering College. Hostel 1 to 7 are for undergraduate boys. Hostel 8 for girls. And Hostel 9 for post graduate students. (Though there is one girl's hostel. It doesn't mean the ratio of girls is less. In fact, the capacity of the girls' hostel is 3 times than that of any boys hostel). Hostels in AEC are very cost efficient. The average expenditure on hostel is Rs. 2,000 only per month (includes boarding, food and establishment). There is also WiFi in the hostels, which provides a fast Internet service to students.
Daily class starts from 8 A.M in the morning to 12 P.M. Then there is a lunch break and if there is any class in the second half it lasts from 1:30 P.M to 3:30 P.M. (No second half classes on Saturday). You can also enjoy the free time in the library reading books or magazines. The teachers are very highly qualified and they provide a quality teaching in the classroom. The no. of classes may be less as compared but the time they teach, they maintain the quality of education.
It is very much affordable for a middle-class meritorious student. The semester fee is merely Rs. 5,000 or 6,000 on an average. Examination fee ranges around Rs. 2,000 or 3,000. For students struggling with financial problems, the college offers many scholarships for them.
Campus selections are quite sound here. There are companies from government sector as well as private sector for recruitment in Assam Engineering College.
For getting admission to Assam Engineering College you must qualify the ASSAM CEE(Combined Entrance Exam) which is being conducted every year by the State for engineering aspirants.
We had to give the state engineering entrance exam, ASSAM CEE. In 2016, the exam was of 300 marks. 100 marks for each, physics, chemistry and maths. But from 2017, the full marks is 360. Each subject is 120 marks.
For acquiring a seat in AEC, you would have to appear for the ASSAM CEE (Common Entrance Examination). Till last year, the total marks for the exam was 300. Scoring about 150 marks would guarantee a seat. But to get any branch of your choice, you would have to score more than 170. From this year onwards, the pattern has changed though.
Payrogenise is the famous festival of our college.
8 hostel is there and the hostel fee is Rs2500(INR) per month. The mess food is not good.
My classes start from 8 am to 4 pm from Monday to Saturday and the quality of the teaching is average and overall experience in our college is okay.
My course fee is like Rs20000(INR) per semester and the scholarship is irregular. Hardly we get any scholarship.
There is average for campusing and the good companies come here for recruitment etc.
Eligibility criteria are like we have to qualify the entrance exam after 10+2 and the name of the entrance exam is Combined Entrance Exam (CCE). The cut off marks are 150 out of 300.
There are quite a few clubs which are quite active. There are two fests which will be held every year, the college fest and the technical fest.
Quality hostels are available for accommodation with homely environment and good food. The infrastructure needs somewhat development.
Classes begin at 8 am and there will be labs in the afternoon. Assignments are few. However, the quality of teaching needs to be improved.

Main recruiters are IT companies and a few core companies. However some get into the Public sector as well.

I did some work in telecom ''networking". My salary is around INR 4.8 lakhs per annum and having an experience of 6 years.
The criteria were 10+2 in science and should have appeared for JEE MAIN entrance exam and the cut off was 97.
