Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering), batch of 2017
Social Atmosphere 7/10
  • The first point I want to clear is that there aren't any serious ragging issue.
  • Seniors are quiet gentle and helpful so don't be afraid to approach them.
  • The college majority student body is from South India but yeah you will find some north crowd too.
  • Coming to the safety, the college has some kind of strict rules (some even don't make sense).
  • There are a lot of eatery shops around the campus.
Societies & Associations 8/10
  • There are plenty of student clubs in the college that you can choose from art club, dance club, drama club, movie club etc.
  • So it's fun enrolling oneself to such extra-curricular activities.
  • In Bangalore campus, sports infrastructure is still developing there are only a few sports that you can choose from.
  • But that's not the case in the Coimbatore campus they have all kind of sports amenities.
Hostels & Food 6/10
  • First lets come to food part, if I were to rate hostel food I would give it 7.9.
  • It's healthy and the taste is decent and they have papad and buttermilk too.
  • But it's a disappointment to meat lovers.
  • As it is a pure vegetarian college.
  • Yes, they do provide egg but not in the mess that you need to buy from the cafeteria.
  • Now coming to the hostel, what I believe is that there are mix reviews about that, some are fine with it while others have already left and are living in P.G.
  • So this depends on person to person on how he adapt to different places I guess.
College Infrastructure 7/10
  • Bangalore infra-okay.
  • Library is just fine but the librarian is a big skull head who never listens to anyone.
  • Moreover, labs aren't any great either.
  • There are few postive points too that I would like to mention, first, it close to main city.
  • So finding a place to hangout is not a problem, second, you get a chance to meet a lot of entreprnuers.
  • You can find all kind of electronic components here(good for electronic hobbyist)
  • Coimbatore-that's something they have everything one can imagine.
Placements & Internships 8/10
  • This part is what I believe is that it's nothing up to the college reputation though to some extent it does but the real thing is if you want a dream job you have to workout.
  • The college can only assist you and go by the internship craze, yes, they do promote that too.
Fees and Scholarship 7/10
  • Scholarship is only based on the rank you obtained in their entrance examination.
  • I guess it is only for below 500 rank holders.
International Exposure 8/10
  • Coming to this point, I would like to say that this college has really good collaboration with foreign universities.
  • It even provides student exchange programme.
Academics & Faculty 8/10
  • The faculty is good enough especially for electronics nad communication engineering.
  • People from computer science department have lot of scope as lot of seminars and workshops are conducted.
  • The professors are ever ready helpful and have some are really pro in their field...yeah do consider one thing.
  • The choice of campus is very important as Amrita have three campuses( Coimbatore-HQ, Banglore, Amritapuri).
  • Some professors have their own unique way of teaching, so it's kind of fun.
