Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) is located in the holy land of Basar in Nirmal District, Telangana. The campus is set on about 272 acres just a short distance from the banks of the river Godavari. It is a unique university that actively uses Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching. The University has about 6000 students along with 250 faculty members and 120 support staff within its campus. 

The primary objective of establishing RGUKT is to provide high-quality educational opportunities for the rural youth of the state. The University operates with the mission to impart to each student broad skills to learning to learn, learning to think and learning to live. The University campus is a residential campus where classes are held through ICT.

Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies has specific eligibility criteria to take admission in B.Tech and M.Tech courses. University also offers a 6 year integrated course after 10th class examination leading to a B.Tech. degree. The first part of the six-year course is a two-year Pre University Course (equivalent to Intermediate) followed by the second part of a four-year Engineering Course.To take admission students should be eligible according to the eligibility criteria defined by them. Eligibility criteria for a specific course are listed below:
