The college is affiliated to University of Pune. The academic schedule is fairly regular. Recently it has become stricter. There is a University of Pune specified combination for classes. E&TC; department is very strict wrt attendance, assignments etc compared to CS and IT. Some of the faculty is really good while some others are average.
The strong alumni network of PICT gives an opportunity to maximum students for internships abroad. There is no such exchange programs from the college. Some students get good international experience by visiting research conferences and seminars.
The Institution accept the general reservation criteria applied to the state of Maharashtra. This is beneficial for some of the students. Also, institution gives an average sum as part of annual awards and scholarship; But unfortunately, this applies to only the student who are toppers for particular subjects or for whole academic year. I had never heard of any other financial aid and/or scholarships provided by the college. Needful students do avail scholarships and freeships schemes.
As the college specializes in computer science, it attracts attention of all major IT companies in india. 95% of the batch gets placed by the end of final year. The average salary offered is about Rs 4 lacs per annum.
The college is located at a very convenient location in the city thus commuting to the campus is very easy. The classes are fitted with projectors to help teachers to explain a topic in detail, the campus is fully WiFi and the labs are equipped with all the latest machines. The library has a very good collection of books.
On campus accommodation is limited. However, there are a lot of reasonable and good quality options available for accommodation in the neighboring areas which are all walking distance from the college. Since the entire area has a dominant student demographic, all the facilities required by students are available nearby at reasonable prices. There are a huge number of options for food around the campus. However, as expected the college food is best avoided.
