  • As I said before, NMIMS classes last only upto 5 hours a day, maybe even 3, so that leaves a lot of time for students to explore other interests such as internships. I did 3 Internships during my three years of college, and that should be what every student should aim for.
  • Placements occur in the final semester of college, and last a fairly long time. A number of companies come, mostly from the Financial sector looking for Finance and B Com students. Marketing sees a lower number of companies coming, but no need to worry. If you have registered for the placements, you will get a large number of opportunities to be picked by some company or the other. It is down to the respective student to convert his or her opportunity.

One thing which ASMSOC at NMIMS really lags behind is the campus, if you can call it that. Being in Mumbai which is a supremely crowded city, SVKM (the parent group behind NMIMS and other colleges) has put a number of colleges within the same building. My building personally had 5 colleges, the most famous of which was Mithibai College.

There are two girls hostels which are pretty good and are situated within a 10-15 minutes walkin from college. They're situated in pretty safe areas, and the warden and security are always on alert. From what I have heard from my friends, the boys hostel may need some work to reach their level.

I personally rented an independent flat with some of my friends. The flat renting culture is pretty established in Mumbai, and most students choose to do that. Be warned however, that Mumbai real estate prices are super high. No decent 2 BHK will come under Rs. 40,000 per month.

The quality of classrooms which we did have was top notch. Air conditioned, with proper benches, white boards and projectors.

  • Other than that, there are about 15 independent societies in college like the Social Responsibility Forum (SRF), Montage (which is the creative society, with dance, drama, fashion, music and all coming within it), Sports Club among others.
  • Vaayu is NMIMS ASMSOC's Cultural Fest, and has been growing ever since it was first conducted in 2011. It is definitely a must for any student at NMIMS to be part of the fest and experience it from within.
  • Life at NMIMS is brilliant. The lack of a proper campus hurts, but the ambience and the presence of true friends makes up for it.

  • You can expect decent faculty at MPSTME. The pendulum of it sweeps a path from one of the worse to one of the finest! In the end, it\'s Mother Luck that decides which period of oscillation you experience.
  • Students claim that Civil Engg. department teachers are very stubborn and loaded with attitude. Contrary to that, other departments have got a chalta hai attitude towards the teaching staff. The college has made some good improvement over the last two years as far as faculty is concerned.
  • Some PhD holders while some just M.T...
