KC Gurukul Society started the KC Gurukul College of Education in 2003 to train students into becoming useful and effective teachers for secondary schools and award the B.Ed. Degree of University of Jammu. The college is situated in Jammu city itself. Trust is purely a secular non-political institution striving to lay thrust on imparting quality Education to the students by adopting the latest principles and models of learning and teaching.

Affiliation

The College is NAAC Accredited stands approved by the J&K Govt. vide no. HE/Recg/bed-14/2003 dated 4.7.2003 & affiliated to University of Jammu (having ISO : 9001 certification), accredited as a four star university by the National Assessment and Accredition Council (NAAC) vide University No. CDC/V/152/3177-90 dated 24.07.2000 for imparting instruction in Bachelor of Education course and has a sufficient infrastructural base as per UGC/NCTE/University norms to cater to the needs of students according to requirements of the Govt. and University of Jammu.

Admission :-

The admission to one year B.Ed. degree course is open to the candidates who fulfill following conditions and qualifications:

Candidate who has passed B.A /B.Sc/B.Com examination degree of 3 years duration under 10+2+3 pattern of education from Jammu University or an equivalent examination of any other recognised University.
B A./B.Sc /B.Com. examination through 10+2+2 or 10+2+3 pattern followed by successful completion of Bridge course of one year duration from Jammu University or any other recognized University.
B A /B.Sc./B.Com examination through 10+2+2 or 10+2+3 pattern followed by Masters Degree in any discipline of Jammu University or any other recognized University.
Graduation in the faculties of Social Science/ Engineering/Medical/ Agriculture/Veterinary Science/ Forestry & Music and Fine Arts of the University of Jammu or any other statutory University in India (The candidates holding Bachelor’s Degree of one sitting pattern are not eligible for admission to the B.Ed. Course).
Centralized Admission

Admission to one year Bachelor’s Degree Course in Education shall be made by the University of Jammu. The selection is made strictly according to merit determined by the university itself.
Eligibility

Admission to B.Ed. course in different colleges of education in the state shall be open to those candidates who have passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination in the faculties of Arts/Science/Social Science/Commerce/and Management /Engineering/Medicine/Agriculture/Veterinary Science/Forestry & Music and Fine Arts from the University of Jammu or any other statutory University in India and have secured at least 45% of the aggregate marks in the qualifying examination in case of general category.
For SC/ST candidates who are permanent residents of J&K and belong to area falling under jurisdiction of Jammu University, the eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
However, one sitting B.A. Degree (External Examination) conducted by any University in the country is not recognized for the purpose of admission to the B. Ed. Course.
Submission of Application Form

Any person who is possessing the qualifications as mentioned in clauses 3 & 5 can apply on the prescribed application form to the University of Jammu on publication of the admission advertisement in leading local non-local daily News Papers as per the schedule mentioned there in.
The terms & conditions for the submission and acceptance of Application forms shall be governed by the University statutes and norms.

Certificates and Documents to be Attached

The application form duly filled in, should be accompanied by photo copies (signed by the candidate & attested by the Principal of the Institution from where the candidate passed the qualifying examination where he is studying at present or a Gazetted Officer) of the following certificates (documents).
Matriculation & Equivalent examination Certificate.
Marks certificate of 12th class examination.
Bachelor’s Degree/Provisional Certificate issued by the University/Institution.
Marks Certificate of each part of Bachelor’s Degree Examination.
Certificate of Good Conduct from Principal of the college last attended or Head of the Institution where the candidate is studying at present or any Gazetted Officer.
Category Certificate Issued by the competent authority as per the latest SRO Issued by the J&K Govt. (for those candidates who claim consideration under reserved categories).
Certificate of being permanent resident of Jammu & Kashmir State issued by the competent authorities by those candidates who belong to the areas falling within the territorial jurisdiction of Jammu.
Affidavits as prescribed by the University from time to time.
A certificate of undertaking by such candidates as are in employment or may be self employed or are engaged in business or profession.
Any other certificate prescribed by the University Authorities.
Procedure and Mode of Selection

Admission of all eligible candidates to the B. Ed. course shall be made by the admission committee constituted by the vice chancellor as per the norms prescribed by the University authorities.
Allotment of Colleges

Admission will be made strictly on merit. The College shall be allotted to a candidate during the counseling session by the admission committee on merit cum choice basis to availability of seats in the college.

The College Library has a large number of books on various subjects pertaining to B.Ed course. The books on general items and encyclopaedias are available in the stocks of the library, sequentially accessioned.
