Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi was inaugurated by Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi on August 01, 1989. Jamia is deemed to be a university accredited by NAAC with an'A' grade. It was set up as a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-renowned practitioners of Unani System of Medicine.

Jamia Hamdard University Admission offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Information Technology, Computer Applications, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy. Doctoral programmes in several disciplines are also available.

Jamia Hamdard has a status of higher learning in Unani Medicine, Islamic Studies, Biosciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, and other disciplines. Over the last ten years, Jamia Hamdard has evolved as an outstanding institution of higher learning with unique and well-versed academic programmes.

  • The Placement Cell guides each student in exploring placement opportunities by inviting various companies for campus recruitment of students who are in the final year and are likely to graduate at the end of the academic year.
  • The Jamia Hamdard University Placement Cell undertakes the following activities to help the students in getting their dream jobs:
    • Preparation for Placement Brochure for final placement.
    • Pre-placement visits to various companies.
    • Communication, networking and relationship development with potential recruiters
    • Invitation to various reputed organizations to visit the Placement Cell.
    • Continuation of placement drive, till all the students, are placed.
    • Placement training sessions for the candidates for the placements so that their chances of selection increase.
  • All placement related activities are carried out by the Placement committee which comprises faculties from various departments of Placement Cell and student representatives from various branches.
  • Students interested in attending placement drives need to register for placements by paying the placement registration fee.
  • Once a company shows interest in campus recruitment, placement cells will try to get as many details as possible about the job profile and students will be asked to register their interest for the job.
  • The online test/ written test followed by a group discussion/ technical interviews/ personal interviews will be conducted for the registered students.
  • Students who fail to clear the academic exams/ other formalities will lose their eligibility to participate in the further placement process.
  • Placement cell organized PHARMAHIRE 2017 [Pharma Job Fair] is held on April 21, 2017, at Jamia Hamdard Campus.
  • 26 employer partners, over 70 recruiter representatives were welcomed and over 750 candidates showed up to the Job Fair.
  • More than 300 students were shortlisted for different job profiles.

Jamia Hamdard University Scholarship: 

  • The Student Welfare Office gives counselling for financial support to a weaker section of the society to apply for scholarships/free ships.
  • Students in the weaker section of the society, whose parental income is below 4.5 lacs per annum, are provided with tuition-fee concessions.
  • On the basis of Merit-cum-Means, they are granted fee concession from 25% to 50%.

  • The charge fee for M.Sc is INR 165,000/- per annum.
  • Students need to pay INR 130,000/- per annum for BUMS (General).
  • The course fee for MA is INR 15,000/- per annum.
  • For M.Pharmacy course, students need to pay INR 230,000/- per annum.
  • The fee structure for M.Tech course is 97,000/- per annum.

Class timings are properly scheduled with enough time given to extra and co-curricular activities as well. Exams schedules are given before hand and are well planned. Teachers are highly qualified who teach with the help of smart classes.


CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS

Engineering Department there are two societies. IEEE and CSI. An annual cultural techno festival is held where students from other colleges can take part too. There are many tournaments held for different sports like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Table Tennis, Basketball etc. The campus is green and clean. The environment is stress-free.

  • There was partnership exitsting between Saudi Arabia and Jamia Hamdard University. They contributed 32 crore Rs to the college. There are many students who are non-Indians,like from Iran, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia. Fee for foreign student is expensive. There are many languages taught like Persian, Urdu and many more.

Jamia Hamdard University Hostel Details:

Jamia Hamdard furnishes hostel facilities for students who are studying at the university away from home and can avail the facilities of the hostel. The following details will give additional information that needs to be known by students about the hostel:

  • The University provides hostels for both the girls and the boys.
  • The rooms are very spacious and also very well furnished and maintained.
  • There is a common room in each and every hostel.
  • Reading rooms, dining hall, visitors’ room are being provided for the users of the hostels.
  • Jamia Hamdard is one of the few universities in the country which has catered to the needs of foreign students by constructing two separate hostels for International students with State of the Art facilities on its campus.
  • On-campus, there is a guest house called Scholars’ House with 12 double-bed air-conditioned rooms and 27 single bedrooms, 4 flats with 4 air-conditioned bedrooms with living room, dining room, and a small lounge equipped with telephone, television, refrigerator and a small kitchen.
  • Despite being an old University, Jamia Hamdard University Facilities are well maintained.
