Academics is priority at the IP College for women and is given utmost importance. Excellent schedule with continuous assessments all through out the year. There are ample amount of courses to choose from in all streams. The methodology of teaching is restricted to more of theoretical classes.
IP College for Women, DU is very low on international exposure. There were very few foreign universities with which exchange programmes existed for limited courses and students. In my three years of graduation, there wasn't a single opportunity for any exchange programme. Also, there was no foreign language included in the course curriculum.
Scholarships and Financing are provided on the basis of merit. The fee for the bachelors courses is very low for the quality of education provided as the college is a part of Delhi University so there isn't a need for financing as such. There isn't any availability of on campus jobs for students.
I pursued 3 internships during my graduation but Internships are not mandatory as a part of the course curriculum and hence were not provided by the college. Also, the college placement cell was averagely effective. Companies like Google, KPMG and more hire students directly from campus.
The infrastructure of the college is not anything to brag about. But considering the fact that it is a government college, it is pretty great. The main building is a heritage building and the college campus is extremely clean, green and beautiful. The classrooms, library and cafeteria are not so good.
Student housing is available for outstation students on campus. The college has 2 hostels where rooms are available again on the basis of merit. Food on campus is not so great and nothing to look out for. The college is situated very close to the main Delhi University north campus where a lot of housing facilities and food options are available off campus.
Apart from academics there are various active societies (dramatics, debating, dance, photography, etc) that run in college and it is mandatory for every student to be a part of at least one and participate in inter college competitions. Sports infrastructure is excellent with presence of a swimming pool, gymnasium, squash court and a lot more.
The social atmosphere at the campus is very disciplined. There is a presence of an extremely diverse batch of students coming from different political and economic status. Consumption of alcohol and drugs is completely prohibited on campus. Also there is an absence or bars and pubs around the campus.
