• The eligibility criteria for getting admission in Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee is that you have to be B.tech graduate having computer science as major.
• Admission is also available through entrance exam called GATE.
• The cut off for general category is that one should get a rank around 350 in entrance exam

Indian Institute of Technology has great placement opportunities. Almost all top notch companies like Microsoft, facebook, Google, Cisco etc come for placements.

Majorly IT companies come here for placements. The average salary offered is Rs 12 lack P/A.

99% students get placed.

To get admission in IIT Roorkee, I had to qualify JEE Advance entrace exam. Also, my 12th class marks had to be more than 80 percentile. The entrance exams i took were JEE Mains, JEE Advance and WBJEE.

For my cousre your AIR in JEE Advance should be around 5000.

There are various internship oppurtunities e.g through IAS, at IISERs, DRDO etc. A lot of people go to foreign universities for doing their ph.D. Some of the key companies that come here are Google, Oracle, Microsoft, Cognizant, Oxigen, KPMG, EICHER, IBM, amazon.com etc. The percentage placement is 80-90%. The average package is around 7-8 LPA.

• The admission procedure to the IIT Roorkee program is taken by the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced.
• The Eligibility Criteria is that the student should have passed class 12th with a minimum of 60% marks in all subjects.

Placements & Internships

• Many internship opportunities are available once you enroll in the IIT Roorkee course. People interested in research can go for many research institute like NIO Goa, NGRI Hyderabad, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology etc.

• For admission in Engineering course you have to secure good rank in entrance exams (nearly AIR 1000 for my college)
• You will have to take JEE mains and JEE advance entrance exam for admission in IIT, Roorkee.
• Cutoffs for engineering course changes every year but if your AIR is nearly 1000 then you can get into this college.

• I did internship at National Engineering Industries, Jaipur
• Mostly IT companies visits our campus for placements. Average package goes upto 6.5LPA

• By qualifying JEE main you are eligible to write JEE advance and by qualifying jee advance you get a rank and rank-wise you get a IIT's and respective course.
• My course rank was between 2000-3000 for general category students.

• Currently I am doing internship in abhilash consultancy for which stipend depend on work.
• Goldman sachs , Flipkart ,Fuzzylogics,Facebook ,Infosys ,Schlumberger etc around 250 companies were came last year(2015-2016) in my campus. 
• Last year's total placements is 1296. My branch placement is around 90% and package is around Rs 10 lakh per anum.

• The eligibility criteria is after 12th board.
• We can sit for the exam called JEE entrance Mains And after qualifying in JEE mains. WE have to qualify in JEE advanced to get a seat in any IIT.
• Cutoff for my branch is about 2000 - 3000 (General rank )

• My course fee is about Rs 50000 per semester i.e Rs 100000 per year excluding mess and hostel fees.
• There are many scholarships available for students. Few of them are Merit cum means scholarship and inspire scholarship.
• Inspire scholarship are available for only MSc And BSc students having cgpa >=6 and MCM scholarship, eligibility criteria is Family annual income Below Rs 4.5 lacs , cgpa >=6 and top 25 percentile . 
• You can take loans easily from the bank like SBI and PNB available in the campus.

• The eligibility criteria to take admission in M.Sc course is you must have a graduation degree (3-4 years) of the course you are enrolling for.
• The entrance exam for this is IIT JAM which is held once a year in the month of February.
• There are no cutoffs and your ranks decides the college.

• Academics in IIT Roorkee has an explicit structure. Everything here is properly arranged. The first years and third years have their lectures in the morning whereas the second and fourth years have lectures in the afternoon but again this may differ from branch to branch. The other half is for tutorials and practicals. Lectures and tutorials go on for an hour whereas practicals may be of 2/3 hrs. Exams are divided in two sets: Mid-sems and End-sems. It becomes excruciating during the exam time as it goes on one after the other with only sunday as a gap. Assignments are divided on a weekly basis and discussed in the tutorial classes.
• The quality of teaching here is above average on an overall basis. Some of the departments here have excellent teachers with a lot of experience. Most of the teachers prefer to teach on boards but some use projectors as well. Even an online moodle is used by some of them for conducting exams and stuff. There is also a system

• Daily routine consists of classes from 8 am - 6pm with varied intervals of break.
• Method of teaching is quite good but can be improved more in future if proper enthusiasm is induced.
• Overall experience is really very good.
